greenlantern6 16 11 Ryan Warner Brothers Still Talking about Green Lantern 2

The Green Lantern has a listed production budget of $200 Million dollars. Currently the film has made $114 Million domestic, with that total edging toward maybe crossing over $120 Million. Currently the international numbers list the all-in total at $40 Million, which means even if a studio got every dollar of every ticket (they don’t, the rule of thumb is usually a 2-1 ratio), they haven’t made a profit, and may never. And yet Jeff Robinov has told the LA Times that the sequel – which they are supposedly working on – needs to be “edgier.”

greenlantern6 16 11 Ryan Green Lantern: Movie Review

After all the hype and build up, it’s finally time for Green Lantern to take a swing at the box office this weekend and show us what it’s got! This has been a film long time coming, one we’ve seen bits of since last year’s Comic-Con. Now it’s finally time for Ryan Reynolds to appear in his skin tight CGI spandex, spewing witty lines. The film is not perfect, and at times it feels extremely over-worked, but there are a number of good performances and enough entertaining moments that make it worth a journey to the theater. Though I would recommend saving yourself a couple of bucks and seeing it in 2D instead of 3D, you won’t miss out on anything. Find out more below…

The Green Lantern - which is due out June 17 – has so far only had one trailer that left the fan-base cold. It featured a more jokey Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, and it seemed to be played for laughs. For this weekend’s WonderCon presentation, Warner Brothers went the exact opposite direction with the Martin Campbell-helmed Superhero adaptation, and sold both the scale and the seriousness of the world of Green Lantern. Check it out…

Edge of Darkness Mel Gibson Wants Revenge 27 1 10 kc1 Edge of Darkness: Movie Review

Edge of Darkness marks the return of Oscar winner Mel Gibson to the big screen. He’s been active behind the scenes directing such films as Apocalypto but this is the first time he’s stepped in front of the camera in seven and a half years. In Edge of Darkness he plays a grief stricken cop looking for answers regarding his daughter’s murder. What appears to be a senseless act of violence barely touches the web of lies and deception brewing beneath the surface…

green lantern09 4 16 Green Lantern Will Be More Iron Man Than Batman

Thanks to Christopher Nolan‘s ground breaking reboot of the Batman franchise, every comic book movie that comes out can’t escape its comparison. In order to be a successful adaptation you have to either fit into the mold of Batman, which is serious and dark or Jon Favreau‘s Iron Man, which is lighter but has a great story. Recently director Martin Campbell opened up about his Green Lantern adaptation for Warner Bros, and he revealed that his film will be a lot different than you think.

Picture 157 Green Lantern Having Production Problems?

The Warner Bros. live action take of the Green Lantern has hit a snag. Ryan Reynolds was recently cast as the title character in the film that has been fast tracked into production by the studio. The location of choice for the shoot is down under in Australia, the same place they shot the majority of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. That should have been a sign of bad luck, because the setting is what’s causing the film some financial woes. More on the story below.
