That’s right, Conan is back in yet another beefy form in the 2011 adaptation Conan the Barbarian. Jason Mamoa, the man who has recently caught the attention of audiences for his massive physique and his role on the hit TV series “Game of Thrones” suits up, or rather, takes it of, for his latest role as the epic character. It’s hard to really critique a film like this, because its goal is not something I seek out in films. It’s specifically tailored to fans of Conan and action, dramas with nearly no humor or character development. It’s hard to know what to make of the Conan the Barbarian reboot. Will Jason Momoa have the same appeal as Arnold Schwarzenegger did when he took on the role? Will Marcus Nispel deliver a quality sword and sandal epic, or will this be another big budget film that ends up looking like a slightly more expensive Syfy movie? No, that’s not a Yanni album cover, it’s an image from the teaser trailer for the Marcus Nispel remake of Conan the Barbarian! The teaser for the August-bound sword and sandal film is a little smokey. Actually, it’s mostly blurred images and impressions of sword swinging and women and for those hoping to get a bearing on Jason Momoa take on the lead role made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger, you’re going to have to wait for the next trailer.
