The star of the critically acclaimed film, The Hurt Locker has been gaining some serious momentum in recent weeks. Jeremy Renner just signed on to star in the Ben Affleck film The Town, and now there are rumors that he may take over the role that made Mel Gibson a phenomenon, Mad Max! Dammit, I thought we were done with this?! I had heard rumors about a possible fourth installment in the Mad Max franchise, but I didn’t believe the hype.  According to MTV, I can breathe a sigh of relief because even though it looks like the film will happen, it wont be in the capacity that we think. Yesterday we reported that Director George Miller was dropped for the Justice League movie. Well, apparently we’ve been had! Miller never made any statement about Justice League or Mad Max.

A representative from Kennedy Miller Mitchell has said that that Miller never even appeared on the Australian talk show “Sunrise Morning Show” and that “The facts are indeed the complete opposite to what was reported.”

Apparently, The Justice League wants bigger and better. Dark Horizons reports that filmmaker George Miller (Happy Feet, Mad Max) appeared on Sydney-based morning talk show called “Sunrise” on Monday morning and said that he is no longer involved with the Justice League in ANY way. It is unclear who called it off, but one things for sure, it’s over.

He was unsure who, if anyone would be taking over the project, but he said that if it does continue it will most likely be recast because “the studios seem to want bigger stars in their superhero movies now.”
