Contagion, the new disease thriller from Steven Soderbergh is a rare smart and entertaing disaster movie. So it’s no surprise that it attracted performers like Matt Damon and Laurence Fishburne. Fall is off to a great start with Steven Soderbergh‘s Contagion kicking off the September releases. With an all star cast – including Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Laurence Fishburne, Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet and Jude Law among others – the film follows a new disease from Day 2 on as it infects the population, and scientists and doctors attempt to control and cure it. Soderbergh deftly avoids most of the genre’s pitfalls by keeping the film in a “you are there” approach that grounds the material, and will have most audiences reaching for the Purell when the film ends.
Finally someone knows how to execute a real action film! One that has your heart racing from start to end, has you jumping in your seats, rooting for the characters and kick-ass fight scenes with ever weapon imaginable. Nimród Antal and Robert Rodriguez team up to form one bad-ass sequel worthy of the Predator name with their new film Predators.

The cast for Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming film Contagion continues to grow. The last addition to the high profile film was Oscar nominee Gwyneth Paltrow, and now according to The Playlist she’ll be joined by current “CSI” star Laurence Fishburne. The site also revealed some new plot details that have been kept under wraps until now.
It sounds like Robert Rodriguez wants his Predators reboot to be a legit sci-fi/horror film. The film’s cast continues to grow with talented actors by the day. Following in the footsteps of The X-Files and hopefully Arrested Development’s film adaptations comes the mega hit CSI. The CBS television show that gave birth to the genre of “procedural dramas” may be heading to the big screen. William Petersen who starred in the series for 8 seasons says “Yes, there will be a movie.” According to YahooTV, he states that a feature length film is in the works and of course his character Gil Grissom will be there for it’s debut!
