Unruly dialogue, early eighties fashion, mullets, and explosions (can’t forget about the explosions) dominate the 88 minute run time of Jorma Taccone’s MacGruber. It’s been a while since “Saturday Night Live” has had the courage to produce a feature version of one of their skits, and they decided to take the plunge with the MacGyver inspired knock-off. MacGruber is transformed from a mediocre 30 second sketch to an amazing action satire complete with the presence of Powers Boothe, because no eighties action movie is complete without “The Boothe”!

How to Train Your Dragon is an unconventional, epic tale about one of the unlikeliest heroes you’ll ever meet. It’s the latest big budget animated feature from DreamWorks and it’s directed by the guys who brought you 2002′s Lilo & Stitch. I walked into the film expecting it to be “just another animation” with nothing out of the ordinary that would warrant your time or money — but I was proved wrong. From the animation to the voice work it proved itself tenfold, focusing not only on special effects but most importantly the story.

If you were a fan of the 1999 cult classic series, “Freaks and Geeks” you’re familiar with the teaming of Judd Apatow and Paul Feig. The duo created and wrote the show that launched some of today’s most notable young stars. Since the ten years that have passed, Apatow’s movie career has skyrocketed but Feig’s has remained somewhat stationary. According to THR, a project has come along that will unite these career-crossed writers and “SNL‘s” Kristen Wiig will be caught in the middle of it.
