Katherine Heigl will be honored at this year’s ShoWest event in Las Vegas as the Female Artist of the Year. In the past the title has been given to the likes of Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston, and now she’s getting in on the action. The event will be held on March 15-18, 2010 and she’ll receive her award during ShoWest’s Final Night Banquet and Award Ceremony. This is great news for the actress but what did she do in 2009 that was so career defining?

Killers Movie Trailer 10 2 10 kc Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigls Killers Movie Trailer

The first trailer for the Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl action comedy Killers has been released over at Yahoo, and it’s deadly. It’s deadly in the worst possible way. Not only does the premise look ridiculous, but we’re supposed to accept Ms. Heigl in the same role she’s been playing for the past few years. The trailer looks like a younger version of the Tom Cruise flick, Knight and Day, except worse. Take a look…

josh duhamel Josh Duhamel to Join Katherine Heigl in Life As We Know It

Surprise, surprise, Katherine Heigl will star in yet another romantic comedy — but wait, what’s this? Apparently Gerard Butler isn’t the only man she’s pulled from big-bang explosion films, she’s now recruiting Josh Duhamel to her rom-com lair. Collider reports that Duhamel is in the talks of joining Heigl in the Warner Brothers upcoming romantic comedy Life As We Know It.

The film centers around the two single, career-oriented adults (Duhamel and Heigl), who have their lives turned upside down when their mutual best friends die in an accident and name then as caregivers of their young daughter. Sounds more like romantic tragedy than a romantic comedy, but leave it to Heigl to turn a frown upside down; Heigl will serve as producer to the rom-com alongside Greg Berlanti, who also wrote the script.

The Ugly Truth Press Conference: Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl

Monday, July 20, 2009 2:20PM - By Mali Elfman

theuglytruth 09 7 20 a The Ugly Truth Press Conference: Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl

Last week we attended the press conference for The Ugly Truth with Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl — needless to say there was a lot of talk about sex, how to get it, how to act once you get it, and what happens when you’re not getting it. It’s safe to say that Butler and Keigl are two very different types of actors, who are both associated with a very different type of genre. Yet thank god for Butler, whose dramatic-action background brought something refreshing to their otherwise re-hased movie and their possibly dull press conference.

Red Band Trailer/Clips For The Ugly Truth

Wednesday, July 1, 2009 10:36AM - By Anet Hovhanesian

gerard heigl7 1 09ah Red Band Trailer/Clips For The Ugly Truth

It’s that time of year again, we have a new chick flick coming out soon: Robert Luketic’s The Ugly Truth starring the queen of these movies Katherine Heigl herself. The red band trailer (more like 3 clips strung together) for the film hit the Internet today and even after looking at it, I’m not sure if they’re going for dirty comedy or sexy-chick flick, because it seems to be stuck in the middle somewhere.

The Ugly Truth which is about a  romantically challenged morning show producer, (Heigl) who starts taking advice from her chauvinistic correspondent (Gerald Butler), (doesn’t this remind you of Hitch a little bit?) in order to find a man. If this trailer is any indication, the movie will try to be more R-rated then people would expect (hey, sex sells). With lines like, “Boobies in this bra say put me in your mouth and taste me,” and “Men like something to grab onto other than your ass,” this movie can easily go wrong while trying to play borderline raunchy/funny.

Watch the trailer and tell us what you think…

Katherine Heigl Katherine Heigl to Star in Life as We Know it

Katherine Heigl is obviously going to ride this romance-movie train until the wheels fall off. The actress who became the go-to-gal for romantic comedies after her 2007 role in Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up is signing on for yet another love story. According to Variety, the actress will star in Life as We Know it, a Warner Bros production under the direction Greg Berlanti.

The Ugly Truth Second Trailer

Thursday, April 9, 2009 6:40PM - By Krystal Clark

the ugly truth 2 The Ugly Truth Second Trailer

A second trailer has been released for the Katherine Heigl, Gerard Butler comedy The Ugly Truth. Yes, this is another romantic comedy where Heigl plays a successful, independent woman who eventually realizes that her material success can’t fulfil what she’s lacking emotionally. Cue Butler to star as her chauvinistic opposite, who I bet you a million bucks she falls in love with by the end of the film. I love Gerard Butler, but I can’t stand him in these sappy romantic comedies. Either way you can judge for yourself whether or not the film is worth your time.

Check out the trailer after the jump.
