- The Walking Dead logged 7.3 million viewers last night for AMC’s zombie show. That’s the highest rated basic cable in the history of basic cable, says Variety. Word has been somewhat mixed on the pilot (we reviewed it), but the Halloween timing and these ratings assure a third season.
- Speaking of renewals, Sons of Anarchy has been given the greenlight for a fifth season.

The Three Stooges movie is still going strong despite its multiple casting issues. The original three amigos may have jumped ship (Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Jim Carrey), but that hasn’t kept directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly down. They’re going to make this movie happen if it’s the last thing they do! According to Variety, one of the potential stars they’re courting is Jackass frontman Johnny Knoxville, who according to Variety, is officially in talks to star.

Even though the Farrelly Brothers’ big screen version of The Three Stooges seems to have fallen apart, the directing duo won’t give up. Their original line up of Sean Penn, Jim Carrey, and Benicio del Toro can and will be replaced. According to a report from The Wrap, they’ve already started gathering a shortlist of potentials including Johnny Knoxville and “Saturday Night Live” star Andy Samberg.

Gasp! Cher has finally been cast in a role older than her actual age… well does anyone know her REAL age anymore?
The singer is slated to co-star as along with Jackass‘s Johnny Knoxville in writer/director Ricky Blitt‘s new comedy Drop-Out due out later this year.
“It’s like something that you wait for your whole life - and it just happened to come now when I’m the perfect age for it,” Cher said when she let the news slip on a November 2008 episode of “Ellen.”
Cher will play a 65-year-old widow (ahem, cougar) living next to a 35-year-old college student (Knoxville) who, for reasons yet to be revealed by film previews, is kicked out of his parents’ house. Miserable without the pampering of his parents, Knoxville’s character decides to befriend (and that may not be all he does) the lonely (and hot) woman next door so he can continue his lifestyle in couch-potato-heaven.
