Things are beginning to look a little rough for Gotti: Three Generations, the “film about the Gambino crime family boss John ‘The Dapper Don’ Gotti and his son John Gotti, Jr.”  It turns out that film, which is set to star John Travolta as Gotti, Sr. and co-star Joe Pesci, just lost its director, The Notebook and Alpha Dog helmsman Nick Cassavettes, according to /Film.

Because there is no justice or decency in the world, for the third day in a row, there is breaking casting news about Lindsay Lohan potentially working on a third film.  Earlier this week, we had it that Lohan was auditioning for a role in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, and then yesterday news broke that Lohan might star as Sharon Tate in one of three upcoming Charles Manson biopics.  And now, it looks like Lohan is in final talks to play the always-classy Victoria Gotti in Gotti: Three Generations, with John Travolta.

Please excuse me while I let loose with a ten-minute sigh.

faceoff1 Face/Off Duo Nicolas Cage And John Travolta Looking To Reunite In More Bad Films

Hey, remember back in the day (translation, 1997), when Nicolas Cage and John Travolta starred in a little flick called Face/ Off, in which they play sworn enemies who switch each others’ faces and take over each others’ lives?  And remember how both actors had so much charm and chops that they totally pulled it off and saved the film and its ridiculous premise?

You do?  Too bad.  Prepare to be disappointed, because the duo is set to go at it again, and maybe again after that, and the charm/ chops level have gone the way of both actors’ hairlines.

Movie Releases: Dear John, From Paris With Love, Terribly Happy

dearjohn1 Movie Releases: Dear John, From Paris With Love, Terribly Happy

The two standout movies coming out this week are both love stories. The first is director Lasse Hallstrom’s adaptation of Nicholas Sparks newest bestseller, Dear John. The man who wrote The Notebook, brings us the story a young soldier named John Tyree (Channing Tatum) and his one true love Savannah (Amanda Seyfried). The pair have good on screen chemistry and are not bad to look at. I definitely think this movie will be number 1 this week.

The other movie worth watching is Pierre Morel‘s film From Paris With Love. This isn’t a love story in the traditional sense, although it is about the love one man has for action. It stars John Travolta as a bad ass Agent and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

From Paris With Love: Movie Review

from paris with love2 3 10 From Paris With Love: Movie Review

From Paris With Love surprised me in many ways. Initially, the thought of John Travolta doing a slightly different version of his character from The Taking of Pelham 123, just didn’t appeal to me. I walked in expecting to laugh and cringe at how horrible it was, but soon discovered that it wasn’t as bad as I thought. It’s not an epic action film that leaves a mark on your life like the first Die Hard, but it has its moments. So, laughter – yes, cringing – minimal.
