christmascarol09 11 6 A Christmas Carol Poll: Is Jim Carrey All That?

For those of you who have had a chance to see Robert Zemeckis‘ latest motion-capture film A Christmas Carol starring Jim Carrey as Scrooge, Jim Carrey as The Ghost of Christmas Past, Jim Carrey as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Jim Carrey as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, what did you think about the choice to use the same actor four times over? Of course there are a few moments with Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Cary Elwes, and Robin Wright (no longer Penn) mixed in, but really the star of the show is JIM CAREY.

He’s shown us time and time again that he is one of the best and most popular physical comedians out there who has shape-shifted many times over. But did it work for you? Vote below…

A Christmas Carol: Movie Review

Picture 217 A Christmas Carol: Movie Review

It’s that time of year again when we’re about to be inundated with the Holiday spirit. Bah-Humbug! Our first film attempting to spread the Christmas joy (all the way in early November) is Robert Zemeckis’ latest live-action-animation, IMAX 3-D film A Christmas Carol starring Jim Carey multiple times over. This isn’t the original 1908 version, the 1938 film, 1951 adaptation titled Scrooge, or the 1949, 1971, 1982 (parts 1 and 2), 1984, 1989, 1994 (Flinstones version), 1997, 1999, 2000 or 2004 TV versions, or the straight to video versions by “Sesame Street,” “The Muppets,” or “Barbie”… but it sure feels a whole like all of them. The only difference is that this one is done in Zemeckis’ favorite half animation style and is in IMAX 3-D.

Is it worth it? Let’s discuss.

Picture 239 Jim Carrey to Launch Zany Website

For all of you who thought The Truman Show was just another movie to Jim Carrey think again. The actor is taking a cue from the voyeuristic feature, and is allowing fans to get a peek into his life. Carrey has launched a website that will allow you to see more of him than you ever bargained for. Movie Jim Carrey is great, but real Jim Carrey is down right insane.

jenny jim visionary Jim Carrey Gains Weight for Three Stooges Movie

Even though The Three Stooges movie seemed like it was dead in the water after Sean Penn jumped ship, it’s still alive and kicking. The actor was replaced by Paul Giamatti, and the hilarious trio is set with Jim Carrey and Benicio del Toro as the title characters. Besides Giamatti’s casting, the latest big news surrounding the film has to with Carrey’s massive weight gain for his part as Curly.

Picture 217 A Christmas Carol Theatrical Trailer

Disney has released another trailer for the Robert Zemekis adaptation of A Christmas Carol. The film stars Jim Carrey as the voice and digital image of the story’s villain, Ebenezer Scrooge. The film has all the traditional imagery that you would expect from the Charles Dickens’ classic, but with a layer of 3-D graphics. The second full length trailer is a bit more upbeat than the teaser we showed you a few weeks ago. It’s still slightly depressing, but not as much.

The film is a 3-D animated feature that stars Jim Carrey as the holiday icon, Ebenezer Scrooge. His performance was rendered using lots of fancy film techniques including motion capture. i love you phillip morris09 7 17 French Trailer for I Love You Phillip Morris

In case anyone was wondering, I Love You Phillip Morris is about Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor being gay, gay, gay. I have no clue if the film will be half as fun as the trailer, but if it is, it could be one of the most entertaining films of the year. Although some annoying people have an issues with this film and its “graphic depiction of intimate homosexual relationships” nearly everyone at Sundance loved it and its about damn time we get some A-listers doing a gay romantic comedy.

I Love You Phillip Morris Poster

Picture 14 I Love You Phillip Morris Poster

The elusive comedy-drama I Love You Phillip Morris has gained some marketing momentum with the release of a new poster. The film is directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa and stars Jim Carrey, Ewan McGregor, and Rodrigo Santoro. Morris has been at the center of much controversy due to what some call “a graphic depiction of intimate homosexual relationships” between it’s main characters. It’s such a lame and unfair reason to shelve a film, but it looks as if it’s picked up some steam. The film is set for domestic release on February 12, 2010.

Check out the poster after the jump.
