A major story arc of “The Office“ that has spanned this season and last arrived exactly where we all knew it was headed tonight, although it felt fairly anticlimactic. Maybe it’s hard to make a moment that everyone foresaw feel poignant, but it’s disappointing to think that something we waited this long for had little effect. We’ve had a pretty uneven season of “The Office” so far, with numerous subplots (Holly, Danny, Erin) all going nowhere and the comedy being generally inconsistent. The title might sound a little crazy but it’s a comedy so its OK. Half the time we’re getting the same kind of off-beat, surprising humor that made us love the show in the first place, and the other half of the time the show seems to be slipping in the same mundane, comedic sitcom formula as all the rest.
