If you’re one of the many people who missed Jason Patric’s off the wall performance in this spring’s The Losers, don’t worry because there’s more where that came from. According to Deadline, Patric has signed on to star in HBO’s new blogger series, “Tilda.” As previously announced, Oscar winner Diane Keaton will play the title character and it looks like Patric will star as her arch rival!
Stomp the Yard director Sylvain White has added actor Holt McCallany to his next project, The Losers, an adaptation of the Vertigo comic series. The “Losers” include Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Losers’ leader), Idris Elba (Roque), Chris Evans (Jensen), Jason Patric (Max – the good guy who goes bad), Óscar Jaenada (Cougar), Columbus Short (Pooch) and of course we need some estrogen in there so we have Zoe Saldana (Aisha).
As if the cast wasn’t enough, this isn’t your typical heroic film where the good guys go against the bad guys, but how the good guys can turn evil for the right reasons. The story goes that a Special Forces team from the CIA are betrayed by their handler Max (Patric), and left for dead following the conclusion of their operation. The Losers then plot for revenge against Max.
It’s unclear how McCallany turns into a bad-buy yet. Perhaps he ends up working for Patric? Who knows?
For those of you who attended last year’s Sundance Film Festival, you may have gotten a sneak peak at director Johan Renck‘s Downloading Nancy. The film was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2008 festival, but did not win. However, the recognition was enough for the film to be released in select theaters this March. The film stars Maria Bello (World Trade Center, Thank You For Smoking) as an unhappy wife, Nancy, who wants to die. Rather then kill herself, however, she hires a stranger from the Internet, played by Jason Patric, to carry out the deed. Death evades Nancy when she meets Patric and the two unexpectedly fall in love.
