Classic Steven Spielberg is back! The film legend is one of the producers for J.J. Abrams sci-fi flick Super 8, and it has old school Amblin written all over it. The first official trailer for the movie debuted during last night’s Super Bowl and it did not disappoint. Last week we learned that JJ Abrams tapped his “Lost” acting reserve for his new television series “Alcatraz.” The producer brought on Jorge Garcia who played Hurley on the island drama to fill a pivotal role on the show. Today, we’ve learned that he’ll be joined by a fresh face in the form of Sarah Jones, who’s been hired to play the female lead in “Alcatraz.” Do we have our next Keri Russell, Jennifer Garner, Evangeline Lilly, or Anna Torv on our hands?

JJ Abrams sure knows how to keep it in the family. The producer and director has a new TV series on the horizon called “Alcatraz” and he’s already roped in one of the alums from his past show “Lost” to join the cast. According to Deadline, Jorge Garcia has signed on to star in the series, which will have the actor jumping from ABC to the Fox network.

We saw this coming a mile away. The NBC spy drama “Undercovers,” which came from the mind of JJ Abrams has been canceled. The series has been on the receiving end of consistently low ratings and unfortunately it hasn’t been able to find its audience. Today the network announced their plans to pull the plug.

The one-two combo of Benjamin Linus and John Locke will resurface in a new television series with Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn. Last month we reported that the Emmy winning actors (both in the Best Supporting category) were anxious to work together again. It must have gone from their lips to God’s ears because not only will they be on another show together but JJ Abrams is producing, and NBC has already picked it up!

If you were one of the many people who saw Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2 in theaters you probably saw a teaser trailer for JJ Abrams upcoming film Super 8. The footage generated a lot of buzz, which was amazing considering none of it was from the actual movie. When Abrams spoke at this year’s Comic-Con he said that they hadn’t begun production yet, and there was no footage, so perhaps the trailer was shot specifically to get people talking.
