It’s finally here! The new Iron Man 2 trailer with the always charismatic (Robert Downey Jr.) and narcissistic Tony Stark! The big question you might be asking yourself is, will Black Widow speak? Outlook: Not so good. After watching the teaser, the first theatrical trailer, and the one clip where Scarlett Johansson as the sexy spider chimes in and says the race track scene in Monaco will be “ridiculously off the hook,” we’ve still barely heard her speak or seen much of her character and we don’t get much more than a few sexy angles from her in this trailer.
According to a new press release sent out by ABC Studios, their late night host Jimmy Kimmel will have first dibs on the latest trailer for Paramount’s Iron Man 2. That’s right, you won’t have to wait until it debuts online or in your local theater. The trailer is coming home to you, and Robert Downey Jr. will give it a formal introduction.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything related to Iron Man 2, so here’s a refresher course of the awesomeness we can expect t see this summer. Over at MSN France they’ve released a behind the scenes featurette that includes interviews with the film’s stars as well as its director Jon Favreau. How many of us can’t forget the awesome guitar riff from the AC/DC track, “Back in Black” from the first Iron Man movie? It was in the trailer and everywhere in the film, so it’s no surprise that Paramount wants to go back to that familiar place. According to Nikki Finke, the upcoming sequel Iron Man 2 will also feature tunes from the Australian rock band, but in an even greater capacity.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen any promotion for Iron Man 2, and that’s saying something considering the movie’s scale. A new photo has been released from the film, and it shows Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark front and center in a race car. This photo looks like it was taken before the scene in the trailer where he’s getting attacked by a visceral Whiplash.
Thank goodness this news was announced today, because we needed a break from all the Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien drama. It’s been confirmed that this summer when Iron Man 2 hits conventional theaters, it will also appear in IMAX. That means War Machine, Black Widow, and Nick Fury will be kicking ass in the highest quality.
The most watched television event of the year is the Superbowl, and just as many people tune in for the commercials as the actual game. This year the ad revenue for the program will be through the roof as some major companies have bought some ad time including a few film studios.
