Last week, we told you about Iron Man 2′s assault on the foreign box office with openings in Sweden, the Netherlands, the UK, Australia, Korea, Russia, Germany, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Spain and Hong Kong. Whew! After all the numbers were tallied over the weekend, the film broke a few records and has already earned a healthy $100.2 million. That’s up 26 percent from the original’s international debut.

It’s time! Iron Man 2 is about to hit theaters! Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. are back with another installment in their witty, yet action packed franchise. There has been so much anticipation for this film since its trailer debuted (which we sweded) last summer at Comic-Con. The sequel is a solid follow up that comes through with everything you would anticipate from Iron Man, but don’t expect to walk out of the theater with the same “wow” feeling you had after the first film. This is a whole different beast…

In the latest clip released from the Iron Man 2 marketing machine we see an intense moment between Tony Stark and his new rival Ivan Vanko. This scene is nowhere near as violent as their encounter on the race track that’s shown in the trailer, instead it’s all a game of mental manipulation. Check out Oscar nominees Robert Downey Jr. and Mickey Rourke go toe to toe with their words…

Paramount has released a new IMAX poster for Iron Man 2 and it features Mickey Rourke as the villain Whiplash. We’ve also got several high quality production stills of Black Widow, Nick Fury, Pepper Potts, Justin Hammer, and Iron Man himself. At this point in the game I think we’re all ready for May 7th to hurry up and get here but we’ve still got another 3 weeks to go. Until then enjoy the photos…

Entertainment Tonight recently did a behind the scenes story on Scarlett Johansson and her Iron Man 2 character Black Widow. Out of all the new additions to the film, including Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, Johansson is the one we’ve all been worried about. When ET went on a set visit they shot some footage of the actress doing stunt work, interacting with the cast and of course sporting that famous bodysuit. We also have a second clip that includes a scene from the movie and no, she doesn’t have a Russian accent. It’s not happening. Take a look…

In the first Iron Man, actress Leslie Bibb played a strong willed journalist from Vanity Fair Magazine who had a bone to pick with Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. She was so appalled by his weapons business that she gave him a very strong talking to and then slept with him. How ironic (rolls eyes)? After that we thought we’d never see her again but she’s back for Iron Man 2 and it makes Tony very, very nervous. Check out her arrival as well as a sweet new IMAX poster…

We recently had the opportunity to speak to Samuel L. Jackson at a round table interview for his new film, Mother and Child where he spilled the beans on his future Marvel projects. He confirmed the production start date for The Avengers and Captain America, and also clarified whether or not he’ll star in his own spin-off movie.
