Sometimes good things happen to good movie-lovers. Coming up at the Eqyptian is one of the best films of the year Inglourious Basterds along with its director Quentin Tarantino and three of his classic films Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill Vol 1, and Vol 2. Tarantino will be making a live appearance at the theater and most likely answering some questions from you all.
The Egyptian will also be featuring one of the best and most underrated films of the year In the Loop, directed by Armando Iannucci and starring Anna Chlumsky, Chris Addison, David Rasche, Gina McKee, James Gandolfini, Mimi Kennedy, Olivia Poulet, Peter Capaldi, Steve Coogan, Tom Hollander and Zach Woods.

Say what you want about Katherine Heigl, the girl knows how to pick a movie that will be a hit. This week she stars in Robert Luketic’s film The Ugly Truth with Gerald Butler. So what is the “ugly truth” that we will be spending our hard earned money trying to figure out? That women love with their heart and men love with other body parts. Although the concept is nothing new, the chemistry between Heigl and Butler makes the movie a must see, at least for girly-girls everywhere.
And if you like watching freakishly scary little girls who try and kill the members of the new family they are adopted into, then you should catch Jaume Collet-Serra’s film Orphan starring Isabelle Fuhrman. I don’t know about this film, it seems like a scarier version of the 1993 film The Good Son where Macaulay Culkin successfully portrays the crazy young child trying to kill others.

Many of us think (know) that the current war we are a part of a joke, but Director Armando Iannucci takes this idea to a whole new level. Below is a follow up to the first teaser trailer that shows us a little bit more what the film is about… Really good insults.
In the Loop is probably one of the most foul-mouthed, (possibly) offensive, ridiculous, and absolutely hysterical comedies you’ll see this year. The film stars Peter Capaldi, Anna Chlumsky, Tom Hollander, James Gandolfini, Mimi Kennedy, Gina McKee, David Rasche and Zach Woods in a film about the absurdity and ineptitude of our highest leaders.
It’s time to stop fearing the people who run our world, and start laughing at them. Check out the trailer below…

Look it’s more Obama posters! Wait, that’s James Gandolfini as General Miller, Tom Hollander as the lost and in need of guidance Development Minister, and Peter Capaldi as one of the foul-mouthed spin doctor Malcolm Tucker for their upcoming political film by Armando Iannucci called In the Loop. Hmmm… Interesting take. It will be interesting to see what they have to say, about the start 21-century politics with Obama now in office. Obviously, they’re integrating the present into the films marketing, although I’m not sure if the film includes the present. But we’ll see!
