Jack the Giant Killer has had a blitzkrieg of casting news lately, as Bryan Singer’s “adult fairy tale” (not what you’re thinking) snowballs its way to the big screen. And today, another piece of the puzzle fell into place.
So, there’s a new Pirates of the Caribbean film due May 20, and that’s now less than two months away. What is Case 39? It’s a thriller that stars Renee Zellweger, Bradley Cooper, Ian McShane and the newest vampire from Twilight, Jodelle Ferland. The movie was slated to come out in 2009 but got pushed back to October of this year. Why are we not surprised that veteran actor Ian McShane has landed one of the most coveted roles in the upcoming film, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides? According to THR, he’s in negotiations to star as the infamous Blackbeard in the fourth film opposite Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow.
