Do you remember the bromantic comedy I Love You, Man from a couple years ago? The film starred Paul Rudd and Jason Segel and it features a lot of too close for comfort moments between the heterosexual buddies. Entering this week’s box office race as a graduate from the Judd Apatow school of comedy comes I Love You, Man. Paul Rudd stars as Peter Klaven, a straight-laced real estate broker who is in desperate need of some male companionship. Upon preparation for his upcoming wedding he realizes he’ll be missing one important element, a best man. Peter has spent the majority of his life dedicating his time to women, and has never had any real interaction with his male peers. Due to his unusual and embarrassing situation he enlists the help of his family to help him find a friend.

Looks like Paul Rudd and Jason Segel weren’t the only ones who got to have fun on set. Anytime I see Jon Favreau in front of a camera I find it funny, especially when he gets to say “We get to have sex with the lights on… all night long.” It’s nearly impossible for it to not sound cheesy, but there is something about Favreau that makes the cheesy seem natural.

Have I fully expressed my love of Paul Rudd to you yet? He’s pure genius. The man could make cardboard interesting. Although I Love You, Man looks a bit, well chick-flicky for me, I’m so there. I mean think about it, every comedy Rudd has been in, even if it sucked, he has absolutely rocked. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Knocked Up, Night at the Museum hell even “Little Britain USA.”
