This summer has brought an onslaught of comic-book movies, but the tide has turned against them. From Thor to X-Men: First Class to The Green Lantern, none of these super-expensive movies have managed to crack $200 Million at the box office, the number Superman Returns made (and that was considered a failure). Partly it’s the films, partly it’s the characters – many of whom aren’t as well known as Batman and Superman. Enter Captain America: The First Avenger. It’s a relief to say it’s entertaining, and will hopefully buck the trend. Find out more below….

And it’s good! Paramount and Marvel studio’s Captain America: The First Avenger is one the big titles of the summer, and the Joe Johnston-directed, Chris Evans-starring film opens July 22, will be the last of summer’s four big superhero films. The trailer is mostly the set-up: Skinny Steve Rogers becomes a superhero through the tutelage of Tommy Lee Jones‘s Col. Chester Phillips, and the super-serum of Stanley Tucci’s Abraham Erskine to help fight the Nazis. Check it out…

Ever since it was announced that the character would be the villain of choice in the movie, fans have been worried about how he’d look on film. When the Comic-Con Marvel panel took place today, it featured the director and stars of Captain America: The First Avenger. Chris Evans, who plays the title role was on hand as well as Hugo Weaving who stars as the villain Red Skull, and Joe Johnston the director. They spoke about their vision for the superhero and what comic book runs they’ve pulled from to create his origin story. We also got confirmation regarding Caps suit and Red Skull’s mask.

Oh Wolf Man, what will your fate be? At the moment it seems to be undetermined. People don’t know whether to love you or loath you. I guess that’s why Universal decided it’s time for a new, action-packed, sexy, trailer for Joe Johnston‘s upcoming action thriller The Wolf Man starring Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving, and Art Malik. They’ve definitely cut out the haunting, subtle feel that the first trailer had and went for a much more in your face action trailer. I’m guessing this one is aimed at all the teens out their they’re hoping to rope in.

What a morning for trailers! The Wolfman is now online, just after the first Avatar was released. We’ve all been waiting for the first look at Joe Johnston’s film starring Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, and Hugo Weaving and now it’s finally here.
