This summer has brought an onslaught of comic-book movies, but the tide has turned against them. From Thor to X-Men: First Class to The Green Lantern, none of these super-expensive movies have managed to crack $200 Million at the box office, the number Superman Returns made (and that was considered a failure). Partly it’s the films, partly it’s the characters – many of whom aren’t as well known as Batman and Superman. Enter Captain America: The First Avenger. It’s a relief to say it’s entertaining, and will hopefully buck the trend. Find out more below….

Hayley Atwell is a newcomer to the event film world, and she took it to like a champ. Playing Peggy Carter, Captain America’s supervising officer and love interest in Captain America: The First Avenger was a huge role and huge break. But her performance is excellent, and she plays well off of Chris Evans’s square superhero. She’s also incredibly charming, and she gave a very relaxed interview. Check it out….

And it’s good! Paramount and Marvel studio’s Captain America: The First Avenger is one the big titles of the summer, and the Joe Johnston-directed, Chris Evans-starring film opens July 22, will be the last of summer’s four big superhero films. The trailer is mostly the set-up: Skinny Steve Rogers becomes a superhero through the tutelage of Tommy Lee Jones‘s Col. Besides the usual suspects of Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Gemma Arterton, and Ralph Fiennes returning for the Clash of the Titans sequel Wrath of the Titans, a few more actors have been cast. According to The Wrap, Edgar Ramirez and Toby Kebbell have both been cast in the film, while Hayley Atwell and Bill Nighy are being considered for two very important roles.
