I know what you’re thinking. ANOTHER depressing movie about dying children… but stay with me for a few minutes, this one has a little more to offer than just man-made tears. I normally skip out on films like these because I hate being manipulated by a filmmaker who thinks making you cry means they’re doing something meaningful. This is NOT that kind of movie. Extraordinary Measures is a smart film that doesn’t go for the easy tears or the over dramatic violins. It presents you with an unfortunate situation and tells you a story about a family who fights tooth and nail to make the impossible a reality.

Harrison Ford Extraodinary Measures Interview 21 1 10 kc Interview: Harrison Ford for Extraordinary Measures

Hollywood veteran Harrison Ford will return to the big screen this week with the non-Indiana Jones related drama, Extraordinary Measures. The veteran actor takes on the tedious task of playing a medical researcher who’s trying to save the lives of two young children. In a race against time, he teams up with a desperate father (Brendan Fraser) to come up with a cure for a rare genetic disorder. The film is based on the true story of parents John and Aileen Crowley, that was chronicled in the popular Geeta Anand book “The Cure.”

Harrison Ford isn’t known for being a huge fan of the press, but he came out to show support for his latest project in spite of his reservations. Extraordinary Measures is an inspirational film about maintaining hope in the face of adversity. When we spoke to the actor he discussed his decision to take on the project, as well as the extensive research he did to further understand the character. After playing so many larger than life heroes, we learned that Ford puts just as much effort into his smaller roles as he does the epic ones…

Top Grossing Actresses: Hollywood Still Sexist?

forbes09 7 3 Top Grossing Actresses: Hollywood Still Sexist?

Forbes list of top earning actors has just come out and Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston are the two top grossing actresses in Hollywood from June 2008-2009. Jolie slipped slightly above Aniston, raking in $27 million dollars for Wanted and Salt, and Aniston’s managed to make $25 million for Marley and Me, The Baster, and of course, “Friends” reruns.

Although all of this sounds amazing, none of them are making near the same amount as top grossing male actors. Harrison Ford made $65 million and Adam Sandler made $55 million for the same year. Which begs the question, what the hell do leading ladies in this town have to do to make that kind of money?

Vote it our poll below and let us know if you think these numbers are fair…
