Will Robert Downey Jr. wear out his welcome? Hard to say, but he’s now got two franchises where he plays a smart jerk. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is Guy Richie‘s sequel to 2009′s surprisingly successful (it was overshadowed by Avatar, but made over $200 Million domestic) reworking of Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous character. The newest entry co-stars Jude Law, Noomi Rapace, and Jared Harris. Check out the latest trailer…

One year later, after the press conference which launched the shooting of Sherlock Holmes, the cast and crew were back in the London’s Freemasons Hall to promote Sherlock Holmes. Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Joel Silver, Kelly Reilly, Mark Strong, Susan Downey, Dan Lin, Guy Ritchie, Lionel Wigram and Hans Zimmer attend the conference (sadly Rachel McAdams wasn’t able to make it), to explain how they were all introduced to Sherlock Holmes and what drew them to the project. Robert Downey Jr. was his typical wisecracking self, playing around with the audience and the cast and the crew, but everyone else was done in a rather typical “straight-laced must sell the film” mode.
Hope you enjoy.

The first official trailer for Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes has been released online. I have to say this is not your grandpa’s Sherlock. The film stars Robert Downey Jr. in the title role with Jude Law as his side kick Dr. Watson. They are joined by Rachel McAdams as the love interest Irene Adler, and Mark Strong as the villain Lord Blackwood. I’ll admit, I was in no shape or form excited about Guy Ritchie being behind the latest adaptation of the famous literary character. But after watching this trailer, it doesn’t look half bad.
Check out the trailer after the jump.

Well, well what. What are you up to now Holmes? Apparently, a lot of fun on Guy Ritchie‘s set for Sherlock Holmes.
We haven’t seen too much for the film yet, but thank to some pictures posted by USA Today, we get a little more insight as to what we can expect from the film. So far everything looks very Ritchie-like. Whether or not you enjoy his style is your call. If one thing is for sure, you know what you’re getting when you go to one of his films. It looks like there’s a lot of action sequences, dirty looks, fun costumes, and of course, amazing performances. I’m still not convinced that this will be a good film, but I’m more than willing to be proved wrong.
Check out the photos of Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler, Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes, Jude Law as Dr. Watson, Guy Richie as “the fun Director,” and a first look at Mark Strong as Blackwood below…
