Will any of the commercials that air during the Super Bowl this Sunday be “fresh” and “new”? The studios have released more than their fair share of early TV spots including ones for Transformers Dark of the Moon, Kung Fu Panda 2, Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides, and now Rango! Both of Johnny Depp’s releases are getting the Super Bowl treatment. Check out the TV spot below…

Another trailer has been released for Gore Verbinski’s animated feature Rango. The movie stars Johnny Depp as the title character who’s just as unconventional as his name. He’s a chameleon that doesn’t exactly know how to blend in. Over at Yahoo Movies, they posted the new theatrical trailer, which we have below along with a new poster for the film. Just yesterday we brought you the first poster for Gore Verbinski’s animated film, Rango. It featured the title character, a chameleon who’s voiced by Johnny Depp. At first, the whole idea of Depp playing an inept creature being released into the wild seemed generic and uninspiring but this new trailer has changed my mind. Take a look…

What we also know about the film is that it’s directed by The Ring and Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 director Gore Verbinski. The teaser below is reminiscent be of that crazy crab scene in the second Pirates movie, only this time, that insanity seems to be the main premise for the film or at least this clip….

What the hell’s going on with the live action adaptation of the video game, Bioshock? Universal has already given the film the go ahead, and supposedly Pirates of the Carribean director Gore Verbinski is set to direct. Remember all the hoopla that was made when he decided against returning for a fourth installment of the Pirates franchise because of his Bioshock commitment? That devotion must have exited stage left, because we’re not so sure if he’s up for the gig after all.

With six years, three movies, and $2.6 billion under his belt, director Gore Verbinski is jumping ship on Pirates of the Caribbean‘s fourth installment, which is scheduled to start shooting in 2010.
Instead, Verbinski will flex his adaptation skills once again and direct BioShock for Universal Pictures. The film is based on the popular video game about a 1960s hero named Jack who must survive against mutated creatures and machines after his plane crashes in the horrific underwater city of Rapture.
But Verbinski bowed out gracefully, sending the future creators of Pirates 4 his best wishes:
