As expected, Toy Story 3 walked away with the award for Best Animated Feature Film at the 68th Annual Golden Globes. Sunday evening the honor was accepted by director Lee Unkrich, who made a crack to presenters Justin Bieber and Hailee Steinfeld about them not being born when the first Toy Story came out. This film is pretty much a shoe in to win in the same category at the Oscars.

One of the most predictable categories at the 68th Annual Golden Globes was for Best Supporting Actor. The statue went to Christian Bale for his portrayal of Dicky Hedlund in the boxing drama The Fighter. The actor previously picked up the award in the same category at Friday night’s Critics Choice Awards.

Every year, we wake up ridiculously early (here on the West coast) to check out the nominees for the annual Golden Globes, and like clockwork we’re always disappointed. Don’t get us wrong, there were a few surprises for many actors and shows this year but not enough to compensate for the Hollywood Foreign Press’ utter disregard for some diamonds in the rough. Did you notice the lack of love for “Community,” “Lost,” or “Breaking Bad?” They weren’t acknowledged for their work in 2010 but “Covert Affairs” and “Hung” were. Just think about that for a minute.

Sandra Bullock beat some hefty competition for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in The Blind Side. With an unbelievable season at the box office, Bullock was also nominated for her role in The Proposal opposite Ryan Reynolds for Best Actress in A Motion Picture Comedy-Musical. One of the highest grossing actresses in Hollywood, Bullock has arguably paid her dues, and as she proudly admits in her speech this evening, has “joined the other side.”
