Clash of the Titans will finally blast into theaters this weekend after a release date shuffle and a mundane 3D upgrade. The film is a remake of the 1981 Desmond Davis classic that hammers out all the stiff, campy elements we loved to make a gritty hard-hitting epic. The lead character doesn’t have any boyish charm or feathery hair, instead Sam Worthington takes over as Perseus the demigod son of Zeus, the only one who can stop Hades and his pet the Kraken from destroying mankind.

Gemma Arterton, Martin Compston and Eddie Marsan star in writer/director J. Blakeson’s, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, an upcoming thriller about two men who kidnap a girl whose father is a millionaire. Sounds like your basic, thriller, start point. Chances are this was made by a pre-Bond, Gemma Arterton, but thanks to a little push from Quantum of Solace it’s finally getting a released around the film festivals. That being said, it has created a fair amount of buzz so it might be worth seeking out.
The film will be screened at the Toronto Film Festival on Saturday, September 19 at 9:30pm at the Ryerson Theatre, but we have a few clips and photos for you to check out now….

A lot of fans are awaiting the release of the Disney adaptation of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The studio has put out a few posters promoting the film, but we’ve come across an amazing costume display set up at the D23 convention. The entire presentation is pretty true to the Middle Eastern background of the story, but the outfits that stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton were forced to wear look just as uncomfortable as they do beautiful.
On to the goods…

We finally get to see Gemma Arterton in costume on the set of Louis Leterrier’s Clash of the Titans thanks to GemmaArtertonOnline. From first look, the photo of Sam Worthington on set is much more interesting. There is really not to much for you to draw from this photo other than she’s pretty and at some point in the film there will be something to do with the ocean. Could see be crossing to Hades?

I have to say I love Daniel Craig as Bond. My only warning is that his eyes are so blue it’s best if you don’t sit in the first 10 rows. They might melt your soul. If you’re worried about spoilers, don’t be. I won’t even give you the basic synopsis like everyone else. I think the more you know about what actually happens in the film the worse off you are.
Instead let’s talk about the film itself. There have been a number of films this year with a lot of promise that did not live up to expectations. You walk out of the theater, thinking it was good, but that the trailer was far more enjoyable. This is one of the first films that follows through on it’s promise. You walk out of the theater knowing you just saw something awesome. There may be some problems, but you really don’t care because it was just so much fun to watch.
