fourchristmasmsl BOX OFFICE NUMBERS: The Punisher Takes a Beating

I don’t think The Punisher did all that it hoped for. Sadly, it came in at number 8, just about Cadillac Records.  Almost everything else is the same as last week. Four Christmases and Twilight are still holding on to the top two spots.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS: Will Four Christmases Keep It’s Lead?

fourchristmases08 11 26 BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS: Will Four Christmases Keep Its Lead?

Whose going to make some money this weekend? I don’t think Cadillac Record, Punisher: War Zone, Frost/Nixon or any of the upcoming films will be able to knock down last weeks top three, Four Christmases, Twilight, and Bolt. That’s almost a certainty. The question is, where will Bond fit in? Most people think Punisher will beat it out, but I’m not so sure. Even though it’s the opening weekend for Punisher, I think it will still be a race. What do you think?

Here are the predicted numbers for this coming weekends grosses, totals, and changes since last weeks numbers.

REVIEW: Four Christmases a Solid Holiday Laugher

fourchristmasmsl1 REVIEW: Four Christmases a Solid Holiday Laugher

Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon make for an interesting yet enjoyable couple in the new Seth Gordon holiday flick – Four Christmases.  The movie revolves around the pair and their trials as they have to go to four different homes of their divorced families for Christmas.

The supporting cast has as much to do with how funny the film turned out as Vaughn and Witherspoon, as stars like Robert Duvall (Vaughn’s dad), Sissy Spacek (Vaughn’s mother), Jon Voight (Witherspoon’s dad), and Jon Favreau (Vaugh’s cage fighting UFC brother), all have very solid parts that keep the film flowing.

BOX OFFICE NUMBERS: Four Christmases Beats Down Twilight

fourchristmases08 1201 BOX OFFICE NUMBERS: Four Christmases Beats Down Twilight

Wow. Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn, totally kicked some vampire ass over Thanksgiving. The numbers are basically everything you would expect at the top. I was happy to see that Milk, with one of the smallest releases of all time (only in 36 theaters) managed to make it onto the top ten, averaging over four times per theater what Four Christmases was able to do. Hopefully that will help it get a wider release in weeks to come. And if I would have turned it up to 11, Slumdog Millionaire came was just outside the countdown this week, showing that it will hopefully manage to work it’s way in. Here are this weeks numbers…

milkralley08 11 12 Weekend Movie Releases: Australia, Milk, Four Christmases

I know you’re all going to see Transporter 3, but please, at least think about the option of seeing a quality film? Milk or Australia are both great picks for this weekend. They’re funny, interesting, and overall great pieces of work. Or if you have to, see Four Christmases, which is it just has a bunch of great faces showing up and not doing what you know they can do. It won’t be as good as you’re hoping it might be. You have two great films, give them a shot! Transporter 3 will be on DVD before you know it!

Holiday Movie Guide: It’s Christmas Time

fourchristmases1 Holiday Movie Guide: Its Christmas Time

If you’re like me, then you’re probably more interested in watching the Christmas classics of yesteryear like “A Christmas Story” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” instead of what present day cinema has to offer. Although the genre of holiday movies has suffered considerably the last couple of years (think “This Christmas,” “Fred Clause,” and “Deck the Halls), Mr. Clause might just be bringing along some treats for us this year.

Four Christmases - Perhaps the most well known (and possible anticipated) Christmas film coming out this year, “Four Christmases” revolves around Brad (Vince Vaughn) and Kate (Reese Witherspoon) and their disdain for family gatherings for Christmas. Every year, the couple ditches their families to go on a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the season, including potential fights and mayhem. After a bad case of fog cancels their flight, and they’re seen on tv by a local news crew at the airport, Brad and Kate are forced to visit their divorced parents and all four of their families. As you can expect with all good Christmas movies, chaos all of kind ensues, however the couple might be on a road to self-discovery that they didn’t expect. Release date: Nov. 26
