Farrah Fawcett died today of anal cancer at the Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California. The woman “whose layered blonde mane and ubiquitous swimsuit poster transformed the once-unknown Charlie’s Angels star into a 70’s icon,” said Larry McShane in the New York Daily News, has left us with nothing but beautiful memories of her life.

Fawcett was born in Texas on February 2, 1947. Fawcett attended the University of Texas at Austin, but dropped out to pursue her dream of being a model and actress.
