It’s Golden Globe nominees a-go-go on DVD this week with honorees Emma Stone and Michael Douglas‘ nominated performances hitting shelves with the releases of Easy A and Wall Street Money Never Sleeps, as well as surprise nominee Angelina Jolie’s much bigger hit, Salt, also available on DVD.

Over the past 3 years Emma Stone has slowly but surely cemented herself as one of the most promising young actors in Hollywood. Her big break was in the 2007 comedy Superbad, and from there she starred in hit after hit including The House Bunny and Zombieland. This year, she’s taking center stage as the star of an unconventional teen comedy called Easy A.
The film centers on a high school girl who lies about her sexual escapades and gets crucified by the student body because of it. We recently got the opportunity to sit down and talk with Stone about her first headlining role and her experiences during the shoot. She also spoke about her heroes and career influences, as well as her upcoming project The Help, which is based on a best selling and acclaimed novel of the same name. No pressure there…

This weekend take a trip down memory lane and relive the awkwardness of high school with the help of Emma Stone and John Hughes. Easy A is a comedy that slightly mirrors the tale of the literary classic The Scarlet Letter but that’s just a tip of the iceberg. It’s more about the representation of young love and relationships in Hollywood, and pokes fun at them with the help of every 80s movie cliche in the book. It’s fun, it’s entertaining, and most importantly it’s clever.

Academy Award nominated actor Stanley Tucci can do it all: comedy, drama, musicals, you name it and he’ll excel at it. Coming fresh off his acclaimed performance in The Lovely Bones, he takes on a lighter role in the new comedy Easy A where he plays the father of a teenage girl who’s been named the school slut after she spreads a false lie about her sex life. He joins Patricia Clarkson, who plays his wife, to light up the screen as unconventional parents who steal every scene they’re in.
I recently had the opportunity to speak with Tucci during the Los Angeles press day for the film and he spoke about his role and compared his real parenting technique to his alter ego’s. He also discussed his professional and personal relationship with Clarkson, and gave his stamp of approval to rising star Emma Stone. Check out the interview…

Will Gluck is a talented writer, director, and producer who’s had a hand in several cult comedies. He has a distinct sense of humor that comes across in his latest project Easy A. It’s the second film that he’s directed following 2009′s Fired Up and it stars Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Stanley Tucci, and Patricia Clarkson. In the trailer the movie is promoted as a contemporary send up of the literary classic, The Scarlet Letter, but it’s actually much more than that.
Easy A is a comedy that uses every 80s cliche in the book to tell one teenage girl’s story. I recently got the chance to sit down with Gluck and speak to him about his influences as a filmmaker, his directing style, and his upcoming flick Friends with Benefits, which stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. It was a fun, entertaining, and eye opening interview that shed some light on a guy whose fresh perspective on comedy could make him the next “it” director of the decade.

Director Will Gluck of Fired Up! and the upcoming Friends with Benefits, has come up with another high school romantic comedy to add to the vault of teenage dreams gone by. Only this one has a bit of hope! Not only does it appear to have some kind of story to it it also boosts quite an impressive cast. The film stars Emma Stone (my new favorite since Paper Man) and costars Thomas Haden Church, Patricia Clarkson, Stanley Tucci, Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Cam Gigandet, Lisa Kudrow, Malcolm MacDowell, and Aly Michalka.

Producer/Director Will Gluck, from cheerleader movie Fired Up fame, has a new movie titled Easy A in the works with long list of comedu ladies. Along with already confirmed actresses are Emma Stone and always funny in a klutz sort of way, Amanda Bynes.
