Who likes cool stuff on sale? I know I do. Who likes it when you can be lazy enough that you don’t even have to go anywhere to buy cheap stuff? Blu-Ray discs are typically pretty expensive, but with Christmas coming up you can expect lots of sales and Amazon is always a good website to start with. So, we made a handy little list with some recent movies including, Up!, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, The Hangover, Star Trek, and District 9.
The available movies are divided into two categories, pre-order and currently available movies. Check out what Amazon has to offer you right now… Continue Reading

Two ends of the spectrum for DVD releases this week. One of the mega-half-assed-hits of the year The Proposal prematurely comes to DVD and the most puzzling bomb of the year (only a “bomb” because it should have made more than Wolverine and Transformers combined, and yet it didn’t make half as much in total as either blockbuster did opening night), Drag Me To Hell, joins it in silver-disked glory.
Also, just a smattering of TV on DVD, a newly packaged Oliver Stone classic and the three worst DVD’s of the week!
Check it all out below…

…a lot of money! Finally I agree with moviegoers. Although nearly every single film critic agreed that Up is an amazing, must see film, no one ever knows what the people will decide to buy a ticket to. This weekend, greatness prevailed, and Up took in almost $70 million and nearly bumped Obsessed off the list!
Another welcome surprise was the success of Sam Raimi‘s independent horror film Drag Me to Hell which managed to beat out Terminator!
There is a movie god! Check out the numbers below…

It is a slow week for movie go-er’s who have been spoiled with big blockbusters coming out every week (Terminator Salvation, Angels and Demons, Star Trek, etc). Nevertheless, taking quality over quantity, this week still delivers. Pete Docter‘s Up is a must see for anyone with a heart and a passion for an amazing visual experience. Another movie that has been receiving a lot of hype is Sam Raimi‘s old fashioned horror flick Drag me to Hell. Trust me, this film will not disappoint. And if you are looking for something different, you can turn to Academy Award winner for best foreign language film, Departures.
Here are the movies coming out for the week of May 29th:

It’s the battle between hell and heaven this week. Drag Me to Hell by Spider-Man director Sam Raimi and Up will be battling it out at the box office this weekend, but which film is actually worth the time and money?
Drag Me to Hell and Up, both are at complete opposite ends of the ring. Drag Me to Hell is a horror film dealing with hell and creepy insects, and Up is a 3-D Disney/Pixar adventure about an old man who escaped into the sky with a lot of colorful balloons. So who will dominate the box office this weekend?

I had hoped that once you sinners had made that choice with her, that like it or not, you would know in your heart that the thing that had been sicked upon her was not just coming for her, but deservedly so, for you.
Oh Sam Raimi. You’re so charming and yet so evil. The thing about Raimi is that he is extremely intelligent, very humble, and as you can tell from his films, has a rather odd and peculiar sense of humor. He walked into our interview room for Drag Me to Hell dressed in a suit and tie (of course), and with a handshake began by saying “Hello, I’m Sam.”
Well Sam, you’ve made quite the movie. In fact, you’ve made the movie you were always meant to make. Now tell us what it was like…

So normally we wouldn’t be able to post this review until next week, but due to the film premiering in Cannes, they’ve allowed us to release our review early…
Finally! A horror film I actually enjoyed watching! Suspense, blood, and even comedy, without all the ridiculous over the top gore that the Saw-like films have taken over the genre with. For any of you who are fans of the Evil Dead series, Drag Me to Hell has plenty of throw backs to Sam Raimi‘s earlier works and styles. For those of you who don’t know the series, don’t worry, you don’t need to know his work to enjoy it, but be prepared to get a education on what a great horror film entails.

I just came across this exclusive regarding Sam Raimi’s theatrical poster for his upcoming horror film, Drag Me to Hell. It’s been a while since I was blown away by a movie poster, but this one got my attention. It features Alison Lohman trying to fight off a group of demon hands from well, “dragging her to hell.” The tagline is “Christine Brown has a good job, a great boyfriend, and a bright future. But in three days, she’s going to hell.” That sounds horrible! But it makes for good horror. I like this image a lot, but that’s just my twisted opinion. You can check out the full poster for yourself after the jump. Continue Reading

Well, well! We saw some of the photos for this film months ago and finally after all this time we get the trailer for Sam Raimi’s horror flick, Drag Me to Hell. The film stars Alison Lohman, Justin Long, and a REALLY creepy old lady. Although Raimi is commonly associated with the Spiderman trilogy, his true roots are in horror; The Gift, Evil Dead I and II, and my favorite Army of Darkness. It’s about damn time he gave Spidy a break and got back to what he’s genuinely amazing at.
Check out his new trailer below…
