Viewers took to their various blogs and Twitter accounts to let the world know what they thought of the early cut of the film, and from what I’ve read it sounds like an old school stoner comedy but with horses.

landofthelost09 5 8 Movie Review: The Land of the Lost

Based off the 70′s TV show, comes the new comedy The Land of the Lost by director Brad Silberling, starring Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, Anna Friel, and Jorma Taccone. If you’re looking to sit back, have a good time, and bring the kiddies, this is a solid comedy with a surprising amount of laugh out loud moments.

The tricky part about this film is that it was all over the place. I have no idea what this film was exactly, but I liked it. It was a fun ride and much better than the majority of comedies coming out.

Let’s break it down…

dannymcbride09 6 3 Danny McBrides Land of the Lost Interview

Recently we sat down with Danny McBride to talk to him about his role as red-neck, casino entrepreneur, Will Stanton in Will Ferrell‘s comedy, The Land of the Lost. It’s not much a surprise that the real life McBride is not unlike the character’s you’ve seen him play on screen, only with a very quick wit that shows how he could go toe to toe with someone like Ferrell.

If you’re looking for what McBride has to say about on Your Highness, Natalie Portman joining the cast, and more we already posted that in a separate interview.

Check out what he has to say about acting with Ferrell in their first film together (and consistently trying not to laugh), what Chaka really wanted to do to the apple, trying not to swear on set (and failing), his future plans for Eastbond & Down, and more below…

It was just announced that Natalie Portman would be joining James Franco and Danny McBride in the upcoming comedy Your Highness direct by David Gordon Green, but we didn’t need to hear it from them, because we heard it straight from McBride himself plus a whole lot more! They’re taking the film very seriously. They’re even considering casting someone along the lines of Sir Ian McKellen as the wizard! Apparently, aside from Portman, Franco, and McBride they’re going for an entirely English cast to make the film look real.

Find out more about the tone of the film, McBride’s character, who is directing, casting and more below…

landofthelost09 5 25 Clip From Land of the Lost

MTV has just posted a new clip of the film Land of the Lost starring Will Ferrell, Anna Friel and Danny McBride.

We all know that this film is going to be cheesy, but I didn’t realize exactly how far they were going to go with “cheese” factor until this clip. It feels like an SNL clip, but with a big budget. I was hoping for a little bit more for some reason.

In this scene our three main characters are greet by the “Sleestak.” Are they friend or foe? Find out below…
