Ghostbusters 3—in the annals of Hollywood’s ‘development hell,’ this proposed sequel continues to simultaneously serve as one of the most frustrating, and yet, entertaining entries. It’s frustrating because it’s likely impossible to top the stellar original (Ghostbusters 2, anyone?), and yet the infamous stories of infighting between Bill Murray (who has publically declared the idea of a Ghostbusters 3 as a horrible one) have been fairly entertaining thus far—Murray reportedly Fex Ex’d a shredded copy of the script to Dan Aykroyd when asked if he would return as Doc Venkman.

That slow sense of creeping dread is coming from Dan Aykroyd, who recently talked with Empire Magazine about the state of Ghostbusters 3. Aykroyd told the magazine they really want Rick Moranis to be a part of the movie – which would be a coup as the actor hasn’t appeared on screen since 1997 – and that he plans to go forward with or without Bill Murray. But only once the script is right, though.

This time around disaster strikes in 3D/live action, which indicates sheer elation for children and gut wrenching nausea for parents. Director Eric Brevig teams up with Dan Aykroyd, Justin Timberlake, and Anna Faris for this “Jellystone” adventure that opens in theaters nationwide this Friday.

Dan Aykroyd is getting ready to make an appearance on the small screen for a guest spot on the new CBS series “The Defenders.” The show stars Jerry O’Connell and James Belushi, who happens to be the younger brother of John Belushi who starred opposite Aykroyd on “Saturday Night Live” and in the Blues Brothers.
