836 D 16897 R1 Fox News Decries The Muppets as Anti Capitalism

In the latest round of nonsense to emerge from the Fox News branch, it seems that Eric Boiling is annoyed that The Muppets uses Chris Cooper‘s Tex Richman – an oil tycoon who wants to destroy the Muppet’s studio – as a figure that is supposedly anti-capitalism. The discussion he had on Fox Business Network doesn’t seem to be particularly well sourced and the Conservatives represented on the show are basically anti-Muppet. Perhaps Boiling is gunning to be the villain in the sequel.

836 D 00667 R The Muppets: Movie Review

There’s something curious about relaunching a famous brand that has gotten dusty. Sometimes reboots are done out of love, but more often than not it’s just a cashgrab. But don’t worry about 2011′s The Muppets, it was made by the right people for the right reasons. There’s no denying that The Muppets are a beloved group of performers, but between lesser films and TV movies, the gang has fallen from the spotlight – something that was inevitable after the passing of creator Jim Henson. Enter Jason Segel, who obviously helped will the production into existence, and now the muppets are back and as good as they once were. And if the movie mostly serves to push nostalgia buttons, it pushes them well.

The Pig With the Froggy Tattoo poster preview The Muppets Do The Pig With The Froggy Tattoo

The marketing for The Muppets has been nothing if not creative, and now they’ve moved on to parodying The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trailer. This doesn’t have the same psyche-out reveal of their earlier trailers, and stars Jason Segel, Amy Adams, and Chris Cooper are front and center, while many of the film’s cameos are now readily apparent. This is a fun trailer and plays to what looks to be the film’s strength: its sense of humor. Check it out…

Muppets 6 20 11DH The Real Muppet Movie Trailer Finally Hits

After three psyche-out trailers, The Muppets finally has a non-parody trailer. Of all the reboots and relaunches, The Muppets could not be coming back at a more opportune time – people love the characters, most people in the United States grew up with Kermit and company (if not through the show and the series of movies, then through Sesame Street). The human cast includes Jason Segel, Amy Adams and Chris Cooper, and the trailer is great. Check it out…

TheCompanyMen1 The Company Men: Movie Review

Aside from Jason Reitman‘s Up In The Air, Oliver Stone‘s Wallstreet: Money Never Sleeps and a couple of snooze-worthy doc’s, few filmmakers have utilized our current economic climate on the project-front. First feature-length writer/director John Wells takes a stab at a little social/economic commentary in his film The Company Men, starring Ben Affleck (watch interview), Tommy Lee Jones, and Chris Cooper. The film’s up for a nationwide release this Friday. Check out the review below…

wtwta header09 9 18 More Where the Wild Things Are Banners!

We just received more beautiful character posters for Spike Jonze‘s upcoming masterpieces Where the Wild Things Are. We were just discussing Jonze’s choice to use men in suits rather than CGI and how that choice helped in creating the magic and beauty behind the film, and these posters are a perfect example of that. When you look at the close up of The Bull above, you can see how tactile the hair feels and how piercing the eyes are. The whole thing could be a painting.

Below are five new posts including, Paul Dano as “Alexander,” Chris Cooper as “Douglas,” Forest Whitaker as “Ira,” Michael Berry Jr. as “The Bull,” and another shot of James Gandolfini as “Carol.”

Check them out now in our gallery…
