This weekend Channing Tatum will headline his first period piece: The Eagle. The film is directed by Kevin MacDonald and co-stars Jamie Bell and Donald Sutherland. The film is based on the book The Eagle of the Ninth, which was written by Rosemary Sutcliff and takes us into the dangerous world of second-century Britain. The premise of the film centers on a Roman officer, Marcus Flavius Aquila (Tatum), as he tries to discover the truth about the disappearance of his father’s ninth legion in Northern Britain.
We recently spoke to Tatum about his take on the famous tale, and he revealed what drew him to the material, his obsession with playing soldiers, and the on set rivalry that developed between him and Bell. Check out the interview…

Earlier today, we got the opportunity to speak to Channing Tatum, while he was out promoting his latest feature The Eagle. The star shed some light on his upcoming film 21 Jump Street, which is the big screen adaptation of the popular 80′s TV show that made Johnny Depp famous. Tatum revealed that the film’s script is like nothing he’s ever seen before and he’s really excited about it. Sony has found their leading men for the big screen adaptation of the TV series “21 Jump Street.” According to a press release sent out by the studio Channing Tatum will headline the film, which confirms a report that initially surfaced in early November. Screenwriter and actor Jonah Hill has also been confirmed for his role in the feature, making for an unlikley partnership between the two.
