According to Deadline, Ron Howard plans on doing the semi-impossible by adaptating Stephen King’s fantasy series, The Dark Tower. The director along with his producing partner Brian Grazer, Akiva Goldsman, and Universal Pictures are in the middle of a deal that will turn the 7 books into a theatrical trilogy and a possible TV series.

Gus van Sant is in negotiations to develop and direct Restless, an original screenplay by first-time screenwriter Jason Lew that will be produced by Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard (THR).
It does seem like a rather “friendly” film, with the two Howards involved, and is only furthered when you realize that the screenwriter, Lew, went to college with Bryce Howard and the two acted in plays together.

Stretch Armstrong is an awesome guy. Growing up, my brothers and I would test the limits of the poor toy just to see what was inside. Obviously, I would be excited to hear of a movie about Stretch Armstrong. Universal Pictures and Hasbro, Inc. are teaming up to release the film. The cast of Ridley Scott’s untitled Robin Hood project just got a whole lot bigger. According to THR, three actors have just been added to the film as the fabled Merry Men. Joining Russell Crowe’s crew will be Kevin Durand (Lost, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Scott Grimes (ER, American Dad), and Alan Doyle the lead singer of the Canadian band Great Big Sea.
