Nicholas Sparks has done it again. The Lucky One is his newest novel-turned-movie that follows in the familiar and unrealistic footsteps of all of the others. It’s just the right amount of sap that the audience expects. If anything, The Lucky One continues to prove that if we want the sappy, we want it directly from Nicholas Sparks. Other chick flicks just can’t live up.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reunite on the big screen this weekend for their new comedy Paul. Like they’re previous works, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, which poked fun at the horror and action genre, Paul places the focus on science fiction. Jack and Greg go at it again for a third round in the Meet the Parents film series. The first movie debuted 10 years ago and was filled with laughs and quotables like “I have nipples. Greg, can you milk me?” But its follow up Meet the Fockers was disappointing and showed us what happens when you have too much of a good thing, therefore Little Fockers is nothing more than a lesson in cinematic overkill.

It’s sequel Meet the Fockers took that concept and beat it to death and the third film, Little Fockers just makes us ask why? Why make the movie? When I first read this news I almost screamed, because the Twilight sequel New Moon popped into my head. Then I realized I was reading about Paul Weitz, not his younger brother Chris Weitz. According to Variety, Paul is now the front runner to direct the third installment in the Meet the Parents franchise entitled Little Fockers.
