Who saw this coming? Director Clint Eastwood has signed on to direct the umpteenth remake of A Star is Born for the big screen and guess who’ll play the lead? Beyonce Knowles! The Grammy winner and former Dreamgirl has snagged the part that’s been previously played by Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, and Janet Gaynor.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Oscar winner Russell Crowe is up for the lead role as the has-been husband, a part that was last played by Kris Kristofferson.

How many versions can Hollywood produce of A Star is Born? We’ll soon find out because according to THR, the Warner Bros remake has gained momentum in recent months and they’ve hired a screenwriter. With a scribe in place, the studio will soon be able to announce the scheduled release date for the film. Several singers/actresses have been mentioned as possible leads for the film, and you won’t believe who they have as their first pick.

How can Beyonce and Ali Larter getting into a cat-fight look so dull to me? This just looks like a bad TVshow. Talk about over-dramatic move in or pull out shots.
Beyonce has done so many great films recently, why this? This looks like it’s her first one post-singing career. I mean seriously, Beyonce could snap Ali Larter like a twig if she really wanted to. Why even bother?

Yesterday afternoon Sony Pictures held a forty-five minute press conference for its upcoming ensemble drama Cadillac Records. Adrien Brody, Columbus Short, Gabrielle Union, Jeffrey Wright, and Eamonn Walker answered questions about the project in a noticeably strained atmosphere. Conspicuously absent was writer-director Darnell Martin, a TV veteran who’s previous feature credit was the 2005 adaptation of Their Eyes Were Watching God, starring Halle Berry.

She’s BACK! Wonder Woman, has been reportedly in the works, out of the works and then back in again for some time now. The film seems to have more trouble getting off the ground than a turkey on Thanksgiving. But, it just might! Recently, Beyonce is rumored to be after the “Wonder Woman” role, although no deals have been signed. There have also been rumbles that Megan Fox is being considered for the role. Not sure if there is any truth to that or if it’s just fan-fantasy.
Today, it is being rumored that Joseph McGinty Nichol will be directing the film.
