Anthony Hopkins has signed on for a new gig and it’s a supernatural thriller called The Rite. The film is based on a novel by American author Matt Baglio, which drew from real life events. The veteran actor will take on the role of a priest whose exorcism expertise isn’t really age-old, but rather unusual.
The Wolfman is a remake of the popular horror classic that was produced by Universal over 60 years ago. Instead of capitalizing on a more contemporary adaptation of the character the studio decided to stick with the old plot and feel of the original. This includes the overseas location and time period, accompanied by plenty of blood and gore. This film could have been an amazing revamp of its predecessor but the excessive violence and unnecessary bloodshed ruins it all.
This morning we’ve gotten our hands on the latest trailer for Joe Johnston’s horror film, The Wolfman. Be warned, it’s intended for French audiences (hence the subtitles) but have no fear, the entire trailer is in English. On top of that, there are a few scenes that include footage we haven’t seen from the previous videos.

Oh Wolf Man, what will your fate be? At the moment it seems to be undetermined. People don’t know whether to love you or loath you. I guess that’s why Universal decided it’s time for a new, action-packed, sexy, trailer for Joe Johnston’s upcoming action thriller The Wolf Man starring Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving, and Art Malik. They’ve definitely cut out the haunting, subtle feel that the first trailer had and went for a much more in your face action trailer. I’m guessing this one is aimed at all the teens out their they’re hoping to rope in.

I feel as if I can breathe a sigh of relief regarding Academy Award winning actor Anthony Hopkins. When I saw him earlier this year at the SAG and Academy Awards he looked a bit off. He looked sick almost, and I began to worry. I hoped that he was getting in character for a role that would explain his new look, and I think that was the case. According to EW, Hopkins has officially signed on to star in the biopic of legendary writer Ernest Hemingway. We reported on the film a while back when it was in the earlier stages of development.
It doesn’t even have a title yet, but based on the casting so far, Woody Allen’s next project looks promising.
King of suave Antonio Banderas is confirmed for the cast Allen’s so-far untitled 2010 film. Plot details are still under wraps (damn you Allen and your mysterious tendencies!), so we don’t know what role the Spanish actor will play, but I hope Allen gives him a gun.

Fresh off of the ensemble win for Best Picture, Slumdog Millinaire star Frieda Pinto is taking advantage of her new found success. The Indian born model-turned actress has just signed on to co-star in the latest project from famed director, Woody Allen. According to Variety, Pinto has been cast in the “ingenue” role of the yet to be titled film. In typical Woody Allen fashion this project has been shrouded in mystery, and we only know a few key things.
