According to THR, one Oscar winner has been swapped out for another for the upcoming thriller Son of No One. The film originally had De Niro set to star as the lead, but according to the trade he’s been replaced by his Godfather 2 and Righteous Kill co-star, Pacino.

Al Pacino may have another award winning role on his hands. The last time we saw Pacino get down with a serious television drama it was the 2003 critically acclaimed HBO miniseries, Angels in America. He won both a Golden Globe and an Emmy for his performance, and rightfully so. The actor must feel lucky because he’s re-teaming with the cable network to star in another made for television film. This time he will be starring as Dr. Jack Kevorkian in a biopic for the network.

One of my favorite actors who continues to get legitimate work is Al Pacino. According to THR, Pacino is set to star in the highly anticipated film adaptation of the book, Blink. Blink has slowly been making it’s way towards the silver screen ever since Leonardo DiCaprio first optioned it off. With the addition of director Stephen Gaghan, and Pacino as it’s lead this is turning out to be quite the movie!

Academy Award winner Al Pacino is taking a Shakespearean turn as King Lear in the upcoming film of the same name. Pacino will star in the title role of the troubled king who deals with political and personal turmoil while trying to find a successor to his throne. King Lear will be directed by Michael Radford, whom Pacino previously worked with on the film The Merchant of Venice in 2004. According to Variety, Radford has also written the screenplay for Lear, which is being produced by Barry Navidi.
