The Rum Diary: Movie Review

The Rum Diary Amber Heard and Johnny Depp kc 10 27 The Rum Diary: Movie Review

Based on the recently published, national bestseller by the troublesome Dr. Gonzo (Hunter S. Thompson) Bruce Robinson presents a disappointing adaptation of The Rum Diary starring Johnny Depp, Richard Jenkins and Aaron Eckhart. I would’ve included Amber Heard in the line-up but her performance is so abominable that I’ve deemed her unworthy of sharing a sentence with the aforementioned actors.

RumDiary2 Johnny Depp is Hunter S. Thompson (Again) in The Rum Diary Trailer

Johnny Depp played Dr. Hunter S. Thompson for Terry Gilliam, and has become the custodian for the good doctor’s cinematic estate. So when The Rum Diary came into being, Depp playing another ur-Thompson in Paul Kemp was likely the only way the film could be made. And here’s a trailer for the film, which is set to open October 28, and also features Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart and Giovanni Ribisi. Check it out.

Battle: Los Angeles – Movie Review

battle la3 10 11d Battle: Los Angeles Movie Review

It’s time. Time for high body counts, mass hysteria, alien invaders, explosions, tanks, helos (I learned that’s what the Marine’s call a chopper!), machine guns and a hell of a lot one liners like “we’ve already had breakfast”! Hell yeah! Battle: Los Angeles hits theaters this weekend with a whole lot of blood-shed! This movie is basically a video game on the big screen. For those of you looking for a good popcorn flick with plenty of solid action, this film delivers. On the other hand if you’re looking for a solid story, you might be better off with Jane Eyre or last week’s The Adjustment Bureau. Let me explain…

Interview: Aaron Eckhart For ‘Battle Los Angeles’

aaroneckhart3 10 11 Interview: Aaron Eckhart For Battle Los Angeles

How is it that Aaron Eckhart hasn’t been in EVERY single war film for the paste decade? I mean look at that face, THAT CHIN! His looks just scream war hero and though they haven’t been pounding down his door for those kinds of roles, he was not only happy but ready to put in the work once given opportunity. He didn’t wait for Battle: Los Angeles to get funded, he worked on a short film with the director to prove that he and this film were worth making. He wasn’t about to just wear the Marine fatigues, he was going to become as close as he could to actually being an actual Marine.

It was clear when sitting down with him and his co-stars that not only is Aaron a serious actor, he’s serious about everything he takes on. From breaking his arm and running around the set like a bad-ass to being able to deliver some pretty awesomely cheesy action-hero lines, Eckhart delivers on this performance and he’s how…

Nicole Kidman makes her producing debut in Rabbit Hole, the feature adaptation of the David Lindsay-Adaire play of the same name. The Oscar winning actress plays one half of a dysfunctional married couple and turns in one of the best performances of her career. Joined by a slew of talented supporting actors, Rabbit Hole is a brutally honest drama about family, loss, and eventual forgiveness. Check out our review…

Two Face The Dark Knight 3 11 10 kc Aaron Eckhart Confirms No Two Face in The Dark Knight Rises

Recently there’s been a lot of news surrounding The Dark Knight sequel The Dark Knight Rises and it’s not about what you think. People aren’t asking about the new villains or vixens, they’re still harping on the past. Apparently, it was news that Heath Ledger’s Joker wouldn’t appear in the film. *Crickets* There was a rumor going around that leftover footage from The Dark Knight was going to be used to revive the character but Christopher Nolan quickly nipped that in the bud. It’s not happening. As for the other bad guy Two-Face, we’ve also heard that he might reappear but when MTV caught up with his portrayer Aaron Eckhart, he denied the claims.

battle los angles michelle rodriguez 12 11 10 kc Battle: Los Angeles Trailer The Aliens Are Coming...Again!

One of the films promoted at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con was the action flick, Battle: Los Angeles. Prior to the panel, not much was known about the feature besides who starred in it and who directed it. They showed some footage to the attending audience that confirmed that it was an alien invasion flick that centered on a government cover up (no surprise there). Today the first trailer for Battle: Los Angeles has premiered conveniently on the day that Skyline hits theaters. Coincidence? We think not! Take a look…

Rabbit Hole Trailer – Get Out the Tissues!

robbathole10 22 10 Rabbit Hole Trailer Get Out the Tissues!

The trailer for Rabbit Hole has just hit the web with a big ol’ bucket of tears for ya. It’s a good thing this is based off an award winning play with popular and/or Academy Award winning actors like Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart otherwise no one would be willing to get this depressed. One can only hope that what we’re seeing in this trailer is merely the surface of the film and that it’s secretly uplifting and hopefully at times even entertaining and not just people crying over their lost loved ones. There’s only so much we can take.

Watch the trailer and decide if it’s worth the tears for you…
