I don’t know if you’re aware, but the filmmakers 500 Days of Summer, like to mention the number “500″ a lot. I would be REALLY surprised if I there was actually “500 days of directing,” “500 days of acting,” “500 days of production.” But then again, 500 Days of Summer would destroy the world, so I guess they’re asking us to use our imaginations or something. You and you creative types.

The featurette is pretty fun, you get to see a lot of cool behind the scenes footage of all the different places (500 perhaps?) they shot the film and even a bit of  the stars of the film Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt goofing off.

Now this is a trailer. The original 500 Days of Summer trailer was beautiful, but it completely lost me due to it’s over-used voice-over, but this trailer shows a lot of potential. The films stars the lovely Zooey Deschanel and the adorable Joseph Gordon-Levitt, in a love story about about the difficulties of falling in love. It’s definitely a refreshing twist on the old romance cliche.

Quick update on the big news, interviews, and reviews coming out of Sundance…

• Check out an early review for The Winning Season (above), which stars Sam Rockwell as, “an asshole alcoholic busboy who is given a chance to coach his local girl’s high school varsity basketball team.”Sounds exciting! [/Film]
• Sundance distrubution sales may be lagging, but at least Michael Jai White’s Black Dynamite got bought! Sony Pictures Worldwide picked up the comedic blaxploitation pic for a cool 2 million. [THR]
• Check out an interview with music video turned film director Marc Webb, as he talks about his latest project,  500 Days of Summer. [FirstShowing]
• Negotiations between buyers and sellers are getting hectic! “It’s kind of gotten out of control; I’ve never seen anything like it,” one buyer said. “Every agent seems to be repping every movie.” Seems as if  there are too many cooks in the kitchen. [THR]

Who the hell was running the voice over for this trailer? It seems like he says 500 Days of Summer, 500 times and it’s so much louder than everything else in the trailer. This trailer looks like a cheesy Baz Luhrmann movie. I get that it’s a love story. The official synopsis states that it’s “An offbeat romantic comedy about a woman (Deschanel) who doesn’t believe true love exists, and the young man (Gordon-Levitt) who falls for her,” but something missed the boat with this trailer.
