Sad news to report, due to the economy and lack of interest 20th Century Fox has decided to shut down their Fox Atomic division. The banner was the producer of several classic (sarcasm) teen comedies and youth centered films. According to First Showing, the plug has been officially pulled and they are no more.  Some previous Fox Atomic releases include Turistas, The Comebacks, and 12 Rounds. One of the better and probably only decent movie to come from the division was the horror sequel, 28 Weeks Later.

  • Exclusive photos of James… I mean Daniel Craig in his new film Defiance (one of which is featured above) just to remind you that he does other things than drink martinis and drive around in an Aston Martin.
  • A third 28 Days Later film rumored to be in the works. There have been rumors circulating about this film ranging from that Internet dude you know to Danny Boyle himself. And even now, it is still unclear whether or not they will make a sequel to 28 Weeks Later, which was a sequel to 28 Days Later. It is now being reported by /film, that Paul Andrew Williams, has signed on to direct the third film. There have been no confirmations. So all we really have is a new rumor.  My question is, do we really need a third film? The first was amazing, the second had serious issues… a third?
  • Guillermo del Toro discussed his adaptation of the literary classic Frankenstein recently. He spoke about how he’s always dreamed of doing this film and what he could bring to it. The one thing he has promised is that unlike Kenneth Branagh he WILL NOT appear topless in the film. Here is what del Toro had to say (as reported by filmschoolrejects):
