Previously, it was announced that Tim Burton would produce a live action feature based on the book of the same name, and now Empire is reporting that its landed a director. According to the site, Wanted’s Timur Bekmambetov has announced his attachment to the Civil War era vampire flick.

Either studios don’t pay attention to their competitor’s upcoming slates or Fox and Disney just don’t give a damn. The two powerhouses are both producing adaptations of the Jules Verne classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, with David Fincher and Wanted’s Timur Bekmambetov in talks to direct. Does anyone else see a problem with this?
