the cheerleaders must die Horror Film Launches Kickstarter Campaign

The internet is a huge tool for independent filmmakers, it provides knowledge, helps them make a name for themselves and it even helps them get started. There are a number of interesting projects beginning online, and we’ve found one that is worthy of your attention. portman and kunis la 7 4 11 Trailer Mashup of No Strings Attached and Friends With Benefits

Natalie Portman followed her beautiful Oscar winning performance in Black Swan with the casual Emma in No String Attached. The Ivan Reitman film was a financial success, but didn’t get much love from the critics. In a few weeks, Portman’s costar Mila Kunis is following her work in Black Swan with a Will Gluck romantic comedy titled Friends with Benefits. When the Benefits’ trailer hit the web, we had Deja Vu, but Blind Film Critic went the extra mile and created a trailer mashup to show audiences that Friends with Benefits and No Strings Attached are the same film, just made by different studios.

election 11 2 10 Top Five Election Day Movies

It has been a very strange year in politics, and it’s only going to get stranger on Election Day. Will the ever-polarizing Christine O’Donnel win? Will Sarah Palin join the cast of “Dancing with the Stars”? Will Sean Penn make an extremely controversial statement related to Hugo Chavez and human rights?  All I know is this – if you are planning on watching a movie on Election Day, it should be one of the five listed below:

roundupkj10 03 25 Roundup: Videos from Glees Susan, The Office Cast, and More...

Normally we do a video of the day, but today was a little bit harder. There were too many options to choose from, so we simply have a roundup post with a bunch of funny videos and a couple random things we found on the internet. Check out the stories and a few videos after the jump…

sundance film festival 23 1 10 kc Keep Your Insults Off The Shuttles At Sundance

The first night of Sundance was a bit rough. Aside from missing out on Howl AND the Spike Jonze Series of Dramatic Shorts which I really wanted to see, I watched a screener of another film and learned an extremely valuable lesson while on the shuttle ride home — keep your mouth shut if you don’t like a movie.

A few of us who didn’t get into any of the opening night films sat down with some screeners so we could at least watch something from the festival. We decided to view Daddy Longlegs, a film that sounded like it had quite a bit of promise. About 30 minutes into it, it was hard not to yell at the screen because of the ridiculousness taking place in front of us…

dvd releases09 6 22 New DVD Releases: The Pink Panther 2, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Waltz with Bashir

A surprising almost-hit and pair of not too surprising flops hit DVD this week as Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Pink Panther 2 and Inhkeart roll onto disc. Luckily there is one film of quality being released, Waltz With Bashir.

Unfortunately, that’s about it for home theater lovers this week except for a pair of art films and couple TV series.  At least we still have the three worst DVDs of the week for some unintentional comedy potential.
