First Look At Dwayne Johnson in Faster

After the dismal family comedy Tooth Fairy, Dwayne Johnson is ready to head back to his action oriented roots. For months we’ve been hearing about his return to fighting form in the George Tillman Jr. directed, Faster. The movie has everything we’d want in an action flick, fast cars, criminals, aggressive cops, and a 6 foot 4 former wrestler. Check out the first photo of Johnson as an ex-con who just doesn’t give a damn…

The story for Faster centers on an ex-con hell bent on avenging his brothers death. Johnson will play a character named Driver, while Billy Bob Thornton will star as a veteran cop who trails him as he races to settle with those responsible for his brother’s murder. Also in the mix is Killer, an egocentric hitman who’s after Driver.

The film also stars Maggie Grace, Moon Bloodgood, and Carla Gugino, which seems like a lot of women for just one guy. We do know that Gugino will play a cop, but the other two actresses characters are anybodies guess. Until we can find out more about them, lets take a nice hard look a Dwayne Johnson in a tank top, handcuffs, and in jail.

New Tron Legacy Set Photos

A lot of new info has been released regarding Disney’s long awaited sequel Tron Legacy, including several photos from the set. Over at Collider, they had the opportunity to check out the film shoot over in Vancouver and they brought back a couple of mementos. We’ve got some images from inside the high tech Tron world, as well as its stars, the director Joesph Kosinski, and producer Steve Lisberger.

Tron Legacy will hit theaters on December 17, 2010, which means we have a long wait until we delve back into its famous 3-D world. The first movie came out in 1982 and starred Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn, a man who learned the power of Tron the hard way. Tron Legacy will take place over two decades later, and center on Flynn’s son Sam (Garrett Hedlund) who’s just as tech savvy as his father.

The cast also includes Olivia Wilde, who is featured in a couple of the new photos that have been released. If you haven’t watched the theatrical trailer for Tron Legacy yet, I recommend you go and take a look because it is awesome with a capital AWE. I was already pretty intrigued about the film but after watching that video and seeing these photos my interest has skyrocketed.

Creepy Nightmare on Elm Street Action Figures

A Nightmare on Elm Street is set to hit theaters on April 30th, and the marketing behind the film is in full force. We’ve recently discovered a few Freddy Krueger toys, which I’m assuming are geared towards an older crowd because these would terrify any normal kid. They feature several versions of Jackie Earle Haley’s character pre and post burn and there’s even an image that shows him on fire! Check out the creepy photos below…

The latest Freddy photos popped up on the Figures forum, and they are down right weird. We all know that Krueger was a child killer but there’s one toy in particular that screams pedophilia. There’s a set up of him and a little boy who I’m assuming comes attached with a particular Freddy set, which is gross.

The original film was directed by horror legend Wes Craven and was released on November 16, 1984. The remake will drop on April 30th, and will star Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, and Thomas Dekker as a group of suburban teens being haunted and killed in their sleep.

Similar to the original story, in this film Krueger is hunted down by the parents of a small town and burned alive for his heinous crimes against children. As his final act of revenge he decides to continue his killing spree but inside the subconscious of kids where no one can save them.

New Twilight Eclipse Trailer Photos

If you’re still recovering from the debut of the first trailer for Twilight’s Eclipse, there’s more where that came from. The trailer footage gave us plenty of new images from the film that include more than just Edward and Bella basking in a field. There’s danger looming over the happy couple and it’s coming in the form of a pale red-head. Check out the newest photos taken directly from the trailer, including your first look at a “revamped” Victoria…

The third installment of the vampire-werewolf series is directed by David Slade, who’s known for his films Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night. Eclipse will show a darker side of the Twilight story that will be filled death and consequences. And if you haven’t noticed, Bryce Dallas Howard takes over the role of Victoria, the jaded lover of James (Cam Gigandet) from the first film. She’s pissed off and Bella is the object of her affection, and I don’t mean that in a good way. She wants her dead!

Final Prince of Persia Poster and Photos

The final theatrical poster for Disney’s Prince of Persia: Sands of Time has been released and it features Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, and Ben Kingsley. It looks like a combination of the individual character banners we’ve seen in the past superimposed on to one sheet. We also have six new production stills from the film that show everybody getting down with some serious action…

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time centers on Prince Dastan (Gyllenhaal), who reluctantly joins forces with the mysterious Tiana (Arterton) to race against dark forces and safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time—a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world. The film is directed by Mike Newell, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It will debut in theaters on May 28, 2010.

Besides the final poster, we also have a few photos from the film that feature all the characters engaged in some type of life or death scenario. Out of this group, my favorite is the image of Gyllenhaal hovering between two buildings while guards are running over and under him. He’s hiding in plain sight, and they just can’t find him.

POTD: Alien Spoof in Photos

Who hasn’t tried to re-do the chest-bursting scene in Ridley Soctt’s sci-fi horror film, Alien? It has become so infamous that people have created spoof after spoof, one trying to out “burst” the other. One of the funniest has to be the one in the comedy Spaceballs. The idea of having an alien creature grow inside your body and then all of a sudden rip out of your chest is horrifying to most.

However, to some it is a way to express creativity. Unrealitymag has gathered a gallery of photos showing those people who have taken the later approach and have re-created the infamous scene. People went their own special unique way and came up with some interesting interpretations of the scene.

New Photos of The Losers

Six new photos have been released for the upcoming Warner Bros film, The Losers. It’s a live action adaptation of The DC/Vertigo comic of the same name and features an all star cast of badasses. As you can tell from the above photo, they’re not just pissed at the world, they’re also pissed at each other. The Losers is directed by Sylvain White, and stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the leader of a rag tag crew of military trained vigilanties.

The Losers are a special black-ops team whose members originated from several different branches of the military. In their own units, each one of them at some point or another lost a soldier under their command, hence they dubbed themselves “The Losers.” Morgan plays Sargent Clay, Idris Elba is Roque, Chris Evans is Jensen, Columbus Short is Pooch, Zoe Saldana is Aisha, and Oscar Jaenada is Cougar.

In the latest photos from the film, we see Morgan and Saldana getting too close for comfort, while Clay struggles to stay alive in the presence of Elba. Evans tries his hand at using a crossbow, while Saldana’s Aisha uses a heavy automatic gun as her weapon of choice. The Losers is scheduled to hit theaters on April 23, 2010.

Tron Legacy Trailer Reveals Key Characters

If you weren’t blown away by last night’s debut of Tron Legacy’s theatrical trailer you need to take a closer look. The video featured plenty of off the wall graphics that would make the most stubborn movie buff take notice. Within the trailer we saw plenty of new footage that highlighted several of the primary characters in the film including the return of Bruce Boxleitner from the original. Below we’ve got some high quality stills taken directly from the video that gives a breakdown of who’s who in the Tron Legacy world…

In the new trailer for Tron Legacy there’s a lot for viewers to digest. It was beautifully put together and gave us shots of several characters old and new. We already know the gist of the story but the trailer actually gave us some live action footage to coordinate with the plot.

The film will center on Kevin Flynn’s (Jeff Bridges) son Sam (Garrett Hedlund), and his attempt to rescue his father from inside the Tron program. It turns out that Kevin has been living in the digital world for the past 25 years, and has had little to no contact with his son. Aided by his trusted friend Quorra (Olivia Wilde), Sam embarks on a life-and-death journey to escape the cyber universe that has become far more advanced and dangerous since the last time we saw it.

In the following photos we get a good look at Sam, Quorra, the infamous Clu, and the return of Boxleitner’s Alan Bradley. Take a look…

New Iron Man 2 Theater Photos

Who’s ready for Iron Man 2? Last night Paramount and Marvel released the latest theatrical trailer for the film and today we’ve got a few high resolution photos featuring the title character and his sidekick War Machine. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as the red and gold superhero, while Jon Favreau returns as the director for the film. Take a look at the latest images promoting Iron Man 2…

In case you don’t already know the plot for Iron Man 2, the world is aware that billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Downey Jr.) is the armored superhero and under pressure from the government and the public he’s being asked to share his technology with the military.

Tony of course, is unwilling to divulge the secrets behind his Iron Man suit because he fears the information will slip into the wrong hands. With Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, Tony forges new alliances and confronts powerful new forces.

According to Collider, you will be able to see the new Iron Man 2 standee and two new character posters at your local movie theater later this spring but in the meantime we have them available right here…

Iron Man is a lot brighter than I remember. If you pay close attention to the photos, you can tell that they left no detail to chance. This is going to be a visually stunning film, which is a good back up, in case the plot sucks.

Zack Snyder’s Legend of the Guardians Photos

The first images have been released for Zack Snyder’s upcoming CGI, 3D feature Legend of the Guardians formerly known as Guardians of Ga’Hoole. The movie will feature a talented voice cast led by British actor Jim Sturgess, that includes Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving, Emilie De Ravin, Abbie Cornish, and many more. Legend of the Guardians is based on the first three books of Kathryn Lasky’s series, Guardians of Ga’Hoole. It follows Soren (Sturgess), a young barn owl who is kidnapped by the owls of the St. Aegolius Academy for Orphaned Owls, or St. Aggie’s. The academy is supposed to be an orphanage, but instead it brainwashes its pupils into becoming soldiers who will ultimately clash with the wise, peaceful owls of Ga’Hoole.

Soren is enthralled by his father’s epic stories of the Ga’Hoole Guardians, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owl kind from the evil Pure Ones. In the newly released photos we see several of the film’s major characters including Soren, his father Noctus, and his best friend Eglantine. The images debuted over at USA Today, and according to Snyder he took on the popular children’s series specifically for his kids.

“At some point, I figured, I had to do something my kids could watch,” says Snyder, a self-professed comic book geek. “Now I’m the one into the stories and mythology.”

The first trailer for the film is expected to debut in front of this week’s Alice in Wonderland, alongside the latest for Tron Legacy.

New Garrett Hedlund Tron Legacy Photo

Disney is trying to prove that their marketing campaign for Tron Legacy isn’t one dimensional, by releasing two new photos back to back. Just yesterday we saw the first image of Flynn’s arcade and now we have another image that features Garrett Hedlund standing in front of it. In other words, they’re similar photos that are shot from different angles. Take a look…

Our first peek at Flynn’s arcade was from a high angle that showed a motorcycle in the distance. That motorcycle was being steered by Hedlund, who appears in the review mirror of the latest photo. This time we get a shot of the Flynn’s sign straight on, but unfortunately its blurry. The studio manages to give us a little and still take a big chunk of the reveal away. Both images are said to be screencaps from the upcoming trailer that we’ve been patiently waiting for since the teaser dropped last summer.

New Kristen Stewart Photo From The Runaways

March is just around the corner, and on the 19th of next month we’ll see Kristen Stewart spend a good chunk of time doing her best Joan Jett impersonation. The young actress can be seen in theaters this weekend in the limited release The Yellow Handkerchief, but if punk rock biopics are more your style you might want to wait for The Runaways. A new photo has been released of Miss Stewart in character as Jett with her black mullet and all, take a look…

The Runaways were one of the greatest punk bands to come out of the 1970s Los Angeles music scene. Not only was their music legendary, but they were one of the only successful female groups in the male dominated genre. Their music was off the charts and so was their lifestyle. The film focuses on the duo of guitarist/vocalist Joan Jett and lead vocalist Cherie Currie as they deal with fame, drugs, and abuse all before their 18th birthdays.

In this latest photo from the film we see a barely dressed Joan Jett rocking out with her guitar in a rundown bedroom. The actress definitely mastered the semi-cracked out look the band had back in the day, and if she can do some decent guitar miming we might have a winner.
