The winner of the 2010 Academy Award for Best Director goes to Kathryn Bigelow. She’s made history as the first female to win the Best Director Oscar. She received a standing ovation and an intro by Barbra Streisand who said, “the time has come.” Bigelow described her win as the moment of a lifetime. She also dedicated her award to the women and men in the military who risk their lives on a daily basis around the world.
