A while ago it was announced that a big screen adaptation of the 1960’s television series, “The Big Valley” was in the works and now several pieces of casting news have been confirmed. First we found out that Oscar winner Susan Sarandon would star as the female lead and the matriarch of the Barkley Clan, and while at SXSW actor Ryan Phillippe has confirmed that he will also star in the film, which is set to begin production this summer!

After weeks of heavy speculation regarding who will play Captain America several sources are claiming that one actor has been selected from the shortlist. Originally, there were seven candidates named that included John Krasinski, Mike Vogel, Patrick Flueger, Chace Crawford, Garrett Hedlund, Scott Porter, and Michael Cassidy. Then it was cut down to Vogel and Hedlund with the addition of Chris Evans, who were shortly joined by Ryan Phillippe, Channing Tatum, and Sebastian Stan. Now we’re hearing from multiple sources that Evans has in fact been offered the lead in The First Avenger: Captain America.

One of the biggest films to hit theaters this year is Part I of the Harry Potter finale entitled, The Deathly Hallows. During the Warner Bros presentation at the 2010 ShoWest convention, they gave an exclusive first look at some never before seen footage from the film. We’ve known for weeks that Dermot Mulroney will star in NBC’s remake of the 70’s TV show, “The Rockford Files,” and so far the response has been luke warm. Joining him on the series will be Alan Tudyk as LAPD sergeant Dennis Becker, who was originally played by Joe Santos, and now we’re hearing Beau Bridges has been tapped to play Rockford’s dad.
