Now that it’s clear that Warner Bros. wants a piece of the Marvel Cinematic Universe box office, today’s news bit comes as little surprise.  So yesterday, when the monstrous Nikki Finke published a list of superhero films that Warner Bros. wants to make in the Justice League continuity, well, a chorus of mehs emerged from the internet to greet it.

Here’s that list:

May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

So, we’ve got three films to be cautiously curious about (Batman v Superman, Justice League, Sandman), one film/character that’s been promised and then taken away so many times it’s hard to feel much of anything anymore (Wonder Woman), one film to kind of dread based on the first entry (Man of Steel 2), and a couple of films to not really care about, because come on (Shazam, Flash and Green Lantern team-up).

Something of interest:  there’s no Batman on this list.  While, yes, he’ll be massive part of Batman v Superman in 2016, as well as an integral player in 2017’s Justice League, it’s something of a surprise that—considering how Warner Bros. is to reboot the character—Bats likely won’t have his own standalone film franchise until at least 2019.

What do you think of the list?
