The Blade Runner sequel has had a bumpy road for the last few years, mostly having to do with the will he/won’t he casting status of Harrison Ford, and the general malaise of fans who have already known the horror of Ridley Scott trying to return to his classic works (say hello, Prometheus). We know that Scott is returning to direct, and that Michael Green is teaming up with the original Blade Runner co-writer Hampton Fancher to write the thing. But will Ford return?
Well, producers Alcon Entertainment seem to hope so, as they’ve publicly asked the actor by way of a press release that includes this little nugget: “We believe that Hampton Fancher and Michael Green have crafted with Ridley Scott an extraordinary sequel to one of the greatest films of all time. We would be honored, and we are hopeful, that Harrison will be part of our project.”
Now that we know Ford is willing to hop onto the long-delayed sequel train after appearing in Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull, as well as returning as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII, perhaps there’s a chance he’ll return to the Blade Runner world, if only to get Alcon to stop publicly begging.
Do you think Ford will return?
