Summer wouldn’t be complete without Melissa McCarthy, and that’s why Tammy is one of the most anticipated comedies of the season. This time around McCarthy plays a woman who’s having a very bad day. Watch her try to rob a burger joint and run from the cops in the hilarious trailer below:

Tammy stars McCarthy as a regular gal who has totaled her clunker car, gotten fired from her horrible job at a greasy burger place, and instead of finding comfort at home, finds her husband getting comfortable with the neighbor in her own house! Tammy decides to hit the road, but without a car and money, the only way she’s getting out of town is with the help of her profane, hard-drinking grandmother.

The hilarious official trailer begins with McCarthy getting out of her beat up car, and moving in slow motion to Coolio’s “Gangster Paradise.” Then we see her try to rob a burger joint. Soon she’s joined by her grandmother, played by Susan Sarandon, and the comedy ensues. Here’s the trailer:

Directed by McCarthy’s husband Ben Falcone (who also co-wrote), Tammy also stars Allison Janney, Gary Cole, Mark Duplass, Toni Collette, Nat Faxon, Dan Aykroyd, and Kathy Bates. The comedy arrives in theaters July 2, 2014.

What do you think of Tammy? Will this be another hit for McCarthy?
