  • Baz Luhrmann To Direct Elvis Biopic: Warner Bros. has tapped Baz Luhrmann to direct their big screen biopic about Elvis Presley. The script is being penned by Kelly Marcel (Saving Mr. Banks, Fifty Shades of Grey), but no details have been given about the film’s plot. However, Warner Bros. is said to have already sorted out rights access to the musician’s fill music library. [via ComingSoon]
  • Joaquin Phoenix To Star In Woody Allen Film: Woody Allen’s next film will stars Joaquin Phoenix. According to Deadline, the film will begin shooting in July. Nothing is known about the project. Allen’s next film Magic In The Moonlight, set in 1920s France, will open this summer.
  • Robert Downey Jr. Prepping Horror Movie: Robert Downey Jr. is making a horror movie with the help of Warner Bros. The studio acquired Coacked, a pitch that will be scripted by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World). WB-based Team Downey will produce the film. According to Deadline, the pitch is based on an idea by RDJ, and it’s being described as a supernatural horror comedy in the vein of An American Werewolf in London.

  • Godzilla Featurette: Gareth Edward will followup his critically acclaimed 2010 mini-budget indie Monsters with the monster blockbuster GodzillaThe cast includes Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and the talented Elizabeth Olsen. Here’s the film’s first featurette:

  • Love, Rosie Trailer: Love, Rosie stars Lily Collins and Sam Claflin. The film is based on a novel by Cecelia Ahem, about two best friends, Rose and Alex, who are suddenly separated when Alex’s family move to America. The rom-com opens October 24. Here’s the latest trailer:

  • Teaser Trailer For Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes: Directed by Matt Reeves, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set 15 years after the events in the first film. It follows Caesar (Andy Serkis) as he tries to maintain control over his kingdom, and the scientists struggling to survive in San Francisco. The film opens in theaters May 23, 2014. Here’s the teaser trailer for the actual trailer, which debuts on May 8th.
