tim blake nelson fantastic four mole man

While Josh Trank’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot already has a mega-villain in the form of Victor von Doom, it looks like the film has also gained a future villain in the form of Tim Blake Nelson, who will play Harvey Elder in the film.

Now Elder, in the comics, is an oddball scientist who abandons society, lives underground, and leads a group called the Moloids.  Oh, and he goes by the name Mole Man.

Before you panic, know that Nelson will only be playing Elder in the upcoming reboot, not the Mole Man incarnation of the character.  However, the door will apparently be open for Mole Man to appear in a later sequel, which, please, Trank, don’t do it.  Just don’t do it.  It  wouldn’t be the first time Nelson was spared from having to play an embarrassingly bad villain (we’re looking at you, The Incredible Hulk sequel that never happened).

Fantastic Four is set for a June 19, 2015 release date.

What do you think of the Mole Man news?
